I'm going to go against the flow here and say I'll take a World Cup for the Socceroos this year.(and a sharks premiership in 2011) :good:
Reason being, that I'm going to cop it again all summer over here from the guys at the cricket club about losing the Ashes and to be able to point to a World Cup for Australia in the English national game is an opportunity that would be just too good to miss.

P.S. Having said that, I certainly won't complain and will party as hard as the next shark if we do manage to pull off a 2010 premiership. :drunk

Apparently, soccer is more Australian than a game called Australian Rules Football!!?? A game that was invented in Australia and is pretty much played exclusivley in Australia, by Australians!

Secondly, I would have thought it was fairly obvious that most Australians come from, wait for it,...Australia! ...Don't they?

Its true Soccer is a world game but it nothing more then that, it will never be the Australian game cant see that ever happen, **** if I had a choice I would rather watch the swans then a roos game I would even watch a tennis match between players ranked in the 100s before I watch a soccer game.

Soccer is the sport that you play if you cant play any other that's what it comes down to its a simple game for simple people its cheap no body contact sport that anyone can play that's why its has a large following OS in some countries.
