20-30 percent reduction……no way, on form he is like 250…..or 300 if paying overs. I really don’t see on form him making many teams lineup

Personally won’t be happy with him in the 17.

Time to move on for mine. With finucane and cam they is some tough heads which are both excaptains.

Can't see it being another $750k contract (or watever the equivelant % of the new salary cap would equal) and wouldn't want it to be either. But hopefully it won't be long before we find out...
Would you be happy with say a 20-30% discount and moving into a bench/shorter minute role?
Gotta be at least 50% less than his last deal.

Don’t we have anyone younger that can play longer minutes that we waste a bench position on him? Fifita was clearly the spiritual leader and unless Wade behaves completely different behind closed doors I cannot see that in him.

Instead bench I think he should be a reserve player if he stays.

Needs to be a much bigger discount than that, should be 200k max.

I am deadset over him…..have been for last couple of years at least.

Sick of seeing him come in disrupt the team, then play crap. Whilst people continue to say he is coming back from injury.

As I said numerous times previously in this thread, before this season. He will push down a deserved player then play crap. Which is exactly what has happened.

The only thing that had been giving me some form of comfort was his $750000+ contract was at last finished and considering his injury and concussion history it was going to be inconceivable for him to get another contract.

When I showed my wife who he was at gunnamatta over summer she deadset did not believe he was a footy player (professional athlete….) looked like he had swallowed a footy.

Time to move on surely…..
I’m with you.

Club shouldn’t offer more then 150k take it or leave it

You're suggesting they offer him $200k?
You may as well just say cut him, it'd be better for everyone
I'm fine with that as well

Nikora, Teig and Talakai are all ahead of him which to me says he shouldn't be in the 17.

I get you're happy for him to go, but that coin would be taken as an insult to him and the players who respect him.

Whilst I understand, isnt it more of insult for him to be expecting to be paid overs on what his market value would be, whilst other team members that love Cronulla like mulitalo are telling team mates to make memories not money (get paid below market value to stay as a unit)

Think about Fifita and how he has said it’s time for him to step aside and let the next generation come through. To me that’s someone showing the club respect. Not someone thinking what’s best for me.

The only reason I can see him remaining unsigned at this stage is that he actually isn't worried about the value if of the contract.

It's possible that there was a conversation with Fitz along the lines of "we'd love to keep you but we can't afford to lose x,y,z because of you staying ". It's possible in this scenario Wade is happy to just wait and sign a deal after we get some others over the line.

He may be happy to play here or nowhere.

I think anything more would be an insult to us fans and kind of contradict the club’s narrative that we are building something special.
