Jack isnt a second rower, he’s a middle forward.

Oh and he’s been injured all year.
Eitherway, 2nd rower or middle forward shouldn't matter, was just wondering. Hoping he'll be good to go again next season considering he'd always been strong for us last few years.

You reckon?
He can definitely cover lock and can play second row. However is too small to play prop.

Ive seen him play both middle and edge. He is far more effective in the middle. Size isnt everything for props and locks these days.

As much as I hate it, looks like we are just waiting on what the new salary cap has in the way of veteran allowances before finalising the new deal.

Plus he’s only like a few kg lighter than Tolman at basically same height.
He could find those kgs easy if it was beneficial to him

Bigger than Cotter
I rate Williams he was a gun last season in a well beaten pack.

However he hasnt played as a prop through has he? Even if playing in the middle has replaced locks typically yeah? (Or has played second row) Just can’t think I have seen him playing/ replacing as “prop”

I wouldn't be sure mate but I think you're right. Just "too small for prop" made me think of Cotter.

He was playing as bench prop this year and that should be his role going forward.

when he was coming off the bench he was replacing a prop, so he may not have ever been named, but he was substituted to do a props job

Instead of posting this in the Blayke McInnes thread I will put it here

Club and Wade are just trying to agree on $$ - this has been the case for the last few months and I don't think it has changed

If the club doesn't want to keep him but also doesn't want to feel bad about telling him no thanks and not offering a contract they could just really low ball an offer to him that they know he won't accept but can then say well hey actually we wanted to keep Wade but he has decided to move on and go in another direction ect. ect.

That isn't the case though, club genuinely wants to keep him on and no doubt he will be captain

Captain or not, he needs to perform on the field to justify an extension

Wade was going ok this year until the back end of the season/finals & 12 months ago everyone was saying Fifita was done and he had bigger challenges to come back from than Wade IMO. (not suggesting a massive comeback is on the cards but it could go either way from here or just stay the same)

His attack is not what it used to be so assuming that remains the case he better make sure his defense and handling are top notch or he will be very frustrating to have in the team. He let us down in the finals with his basic mistakes.

Even so I can understand the desire to just have a younger, more aggressive and better line running Tieg Wilton replace Wade full time

I don't think Wade is adding that much in the second row anymore, he doesn't kick or pass alot these days or run a good charging line. More of a hit up dude that occasionally will do one of those aforementioned things.

Might be time to see more of him as a lock/middle sub without the whole playing in the 2nd row for 50 mins before doing it bit...

Yeah comeback king……

Only taken him deadset 4-5 years to be any good….

Guy has become a deadset myth.

If what you are saying is correct and can’t come to terms on money even more of a reason to get rid of him.

He obviously thinks he is worth more money then the club thinks he is worth…

See you later champ!!! ……please!!!

You're obviously dead-set against him. And that's fine, it's your opinion.
I wouldn't agree that it's about Wade thinking he's worth more. I suspect it's a mutual decision where there's an agreement to make Wade the best offer they can when they can and that Wade will wait to hear it before making any decisions.

I am deadset over him…..have been for last couple of years at least.

Sick of seeing him come in disrupt the team, then play crap. Whilst people continue to say he is coming back from injury.

As I said numerous times previously in this thread, before this season. He will push down a deserved player then play crap. Which is exactly what has happened.

The only thing that had been giving me some form of comfort was his $750000+ contract was at last finished and considering his injury and concussion history it was going to be inconceivable for him to get another contract.

When I showed my wife who he was at gunnamatta over summer she deadset did not believe he was a footy player (professional athlete….) looked like he had swallowed a footy.

Time to move on surely…..

Just on his next contract and us possibly waiting to see what the new salary cap details are.

Apparently the Players Union want $500k separate allowance on top for long serving players next year.

Anyone know if Graham will be our only player eligible for next year? I remember talks that it didn’t have to be served at the one club, so maybe Finucane another.

Fifita has looked like this a few times too, but still played very well. Some players are deceivingly fit and strong for how they look.

Can't see it being another $750k contract (or watever the equivelant % of the new salary cap would equal) and wouldn't want it to be either. But hopefully it won't be long before we find out...
Would you be happy with say a 20-30% discount and moving into a bench/shorter minute role?
