This is what pains me about being a Sharks supporter, going to games, buying booze, merch, memberships, ect

It's like rewarding the dog you love for doing a turd on your carpet each and every week

How do the fans send a strong enough message to the club that they are not doing a good enough job without pulling out our collective and important financial contribution
Do we buy tickets and not show up???? (I'm not serious about that...)

Sure we can vote the board out but are they just replaced by equally incapable and faux-passionate board members?
Besides the clubs issues are far bigger, historic and deep seeded than just a current board

Also +1 for fitz post

As others have said, someone has to come last. Premature retirements, numerous long-term injuries, contract negotiations, sackings, a suspended head coach and the ongoing spectre of ASADA. That’s more than enough reasons to come last and any other Club who went through it would be in the same situation.

But here’s the rub: it hasn’t happened to any other Club. Only us.

We’re the only Club to extend their Head Coach’s contract while he was under investigation by ASADA.

Only Club to have its star playmaker try to piss in his own mouth. Some will argue that this isn’t under our control. Bull****. Todd was a huge part of this Club and he should have acted in a way that reflected that responsibility.

And (apparently) the only Club to let Dank run rogue with its players.

Even the injuries and contracts could have been handled better. If we had better depth in the backs then we wouldn’t have seen so many cringeworthy efforts on the right wing. Ryan did the injury late last year so we knew it was there. Retention is complicated but surely at least one of Fifita, Graham and Lichaa could have been done in the off season.

Almost all of those challenges were under the control of the Club at some point/in some form. And they weren’t dealt with well enough.

That’s the simple truth: we have to be better. Much, much, much better. In every department.

And when we think we’re going well - this time last year for instance - we need to get better again. We all know football goes in cycles, but our good years don’t come very often and when they do they aren’t good enough to win. I find that more frustrating than a wooden spoon.

Those running the Club - and many supporters - will look at those reasons and go: “Year from hell! But we did our best and we’ll come out the other side. Things will be better next year.” But will it be better? Fundamentally?

Will we have a Football Department that competes with our rivals? Will the team be playing a brand of football that can not only get to the finals but win them? Will friggen membership packs get out on time and represent any value for money? Will Club stand for something that supporters near and far can be proud of? Will there be a plan for the game day experience to be the best in Australia?

As it happens, I don’t even think we’ll get the cutlery. But I don’t think it matters either way. Until the Club - including supporters - get focused on building a Club that is fundamentally strong then it won’t matter. 2nd, 16th… who cares. Its not first. And its not something that we can be proud of.

Same page.

In retrospect, it now seems so obvious that this year was always perceived to be a "gap year" for the Club... but how many of you stumped up good cash and passion thinking they were going to have a legitimate dig?

Did they? Do you feel ripped-off?

In fact, prices went up but performance and member satisfaction tangibly went down.

Yet, it'll be argued that it's all ASADA's fault because apparently we need a bad guy to blame.

No, ASADA are NOT to blame - they're just doing their job - investigating a widely accepted view that there was a breach in doping protocols - it may be not to our liking and be taking longer than we like but hey... welcome to bureaucracy!

I'm intrigued as to what will happen when a few players who will be forced to fight for their contracts.

Big effing whoop... every team has their fair share would've, could've, should've, might've, maybe, iffen, what-ifs... the most pathetic line in sport is "I could've been a contender."

Bottom line... we are an under-performing arse-full off complacent mediocre suck.

Until we stop making excuses for such a ***** year of lack-lustre, non-committed rubbish that is being dished up, nothing else will change.

From the Board to the ball-boys we are rubbish - I say this only through a perspective that from a position of realism will you ever have a chance at positivism and from there you might just have a chance at success.

I have greater pride in our jersey, colours and community than most of the sell-swords (both on and off the field) who come in and pretend to care about the ethos of this club... oh and , btw, are on a nice healthy pay-packet too.

The fundamental problem with the Cronulla Sharks is that we've (from year dot) been culturally under the impression that we can find excuses or justifications for under-performance. We are the perpetual "little brother" seeking sycophantic approval and consequently we will always be someone else's bitch.

Fed up. No excuse. No justifications. Just be professional... from Chairman to CEO to players to coaches to support staff to merch assistant to supporters... stop putting up with this crap.

End it.

Stop accepting mediocrity and failure - Demand better.

I think 2014 had no choice but to be a **** year. I dont think players would have responded to any interim coach. Kimmorley could have really damaged his nrl coaching aspirations if he coached us to a spoon. Look at the poor fitness of blokes like fifita and tagataese. Fifita was winning fitness tests before. Looks like he'd win a pie eating comp now. Thats an attitude issue no interim coach, except maybe a very experienced one would have been able to snap out. If the players had been more professional, and we didnt get some injuries it could have looked different.

Losses to titans roosters dragons and tigers at home could have been different results. We lacked that fight to get us over the line.

If flanno can bring back a positive attitude and some professional work ethic 2015 will be 10x brighter

If we don't recruit we'll be in the bottom 4 next year.

Yep totally ripped off - We always need someone to blame though don't we.

We as in the club and the fans have a chip on our shoulder where we think everyone is out to get us and keep us down. From the NRL to the media to ASADA.

No one is doing a better job of keeping us down then ourselves. All others have said we have demand better.

We're lacking maybe a half back and a centre, and possibly a prop since gal wont shift.

Ennis fifita gallen lewis graham are 5/6 of a good 8-13. Its that 7 when are lacking and ****ed if i know what the solution is

We'll still lack creativity though, that's the problem. Until we get a halfback and a fullback with some spark we're not going far. Yeah I know we have the fullback we all hope can do it, but are we going to give him a bloody game??

Are you serious? He's already signed for next year. If it's true what we're demanding I hope he leaves.

yeah i didnt know he was here next year? ive seen conflicting reports he has and has not signed, so who the **** knows the truth?

and yes i stand by my statement if he hasnt committed to the club yet. sign up to the sharks, then you get your spot.... though if hes already signed then get him out there.
