Yeah it is a good game. Even when playing like crap it's peaceful and relaxing as long as the course isn't crowded. I don't play on weekends anymore, too frustrating.
As I've got older I've calmed down a lot on the golf course, I used to snap clubs, hurl them in the water, fling them as high up trees as I could... Now I've just accepted I'm a hacker so don't care haha

Haha funny stuff. I get frustrated but have never thrown a club. Even if I'm having a decent round i know there will always but at least one or two holes where I'll have a blowout.

Actually there's 1 exception to this that I still go into a rage over, skulling a simple chip shot and it flies 50 metres past the green.

Tell you what though, regardless of how well or bad you've played, how good does a beer taste at the 19th afterwards? Love it.

Got to love those snappy schooners in the club after the game (usually accompanied by a small bowl of chips).

I ****ing hate that!

I went red with rage just reading Ev's comment. It's the ****ing worse.

Has anyone ever had Golf Lessons? Are they worth it? Or is it better to just get out there as much as possible and whack some balls?

I haven't had any but one of the blokes I play with recently had some and his game has gone through the roof. I used to beat him by 4-5 shots every time we played, I didn't play for about a month and I can't even come close to him now. He has been playing a lot of golf though.

its also good to get to a driving range and hit a bucket of balls as often as you can

I had a long stay away from golf but recently got back into it, but before hitting a actual course a mate and I spent a few months going to the driving range once or twice a week, mostly because its quicker, but anyway I found it very helpfull by just trying new techniques, stances etc. had a very bad slice in my game, especially with a driver but by going to the ranges I have improved my drives a hell of a lot better and hitting the ball a lot straighter

I hadn't played since May but had nine holes recently in Bowral at the Gibralter resort course and shot four over. Hit the ball really well.
Playing again on Sunday.

Putting is my problem, I usually have little trouble from tee to green but when I get there I usually three putt when it should be two and two putt when I should be one putting. I just have trouble reading the line and the pace. Drives me nuts.

I play off 18 and usually play to that well.

My best ever round was a one over par 61 at Hudson Park near Strathfield. Everything just clicked that day.

Funny how for us hackers there's no such thing as form, years ago I was playing in a 2 day tournament at kurri kurri and shot 98 on the first day (26 over) next day turned up and shot 79, the only time I've ever broken 80 in a comp.

Yep, one thing us hackers aren't is consistent.
