Now that we are 5 wins from 31 starts I ask you all 2 questions.

1. What do u believe started the down fall?

2. How can we fix it?

Note: there are no silly comments and everyone please respect each others point of view.

My answers:

1. When Greg Bird lied to his supporters, team mates, club and police. We are 8 wins from 35 starts since that day. His actions ripped the heart out of the club.

2. No easy answer. As fans we need to stay strong. The players and Ricky look like a marraige going through the motion. They need excitement and variety in training etc.

In a place where the impossible happens, pigs fly,
1) Birds exit from the club. End of story. That was where all the problems started, came at a crucial time when we were flying. He would have made a difference in the semi against storm and i dont know if he could have changed the overall result , but he sure as hell would have made it competetive. Now just wasted talent at Titans.

2) Theres nothing we can do. Attend games, cheer on the boys, let them know that we arent gonna turn on our backs on them. Apart from that its up to them.

I feel stuart needs some help yes to freshen things up

the attack is flat and lifeless. As a halfback you would of thought he could structure an attacking line, but he isn't so he should be man enough to look for options outside the club (past greats even), such as trying Andrew Johns like a few other teams do to help the half and 5/8's.
What is ET's role with the team? Is he still helping out with the backline?

I will continue to support the players no matter what happens, but id love to see a bit of a look at a couple of options outside the square to try to change it. if it doesnt work it doesnt work couldnt be any worse than losing already

no arguments our troubles started with Birds dismissal, however looking back at it, i dont think the situatin was handled well by Bird, the Sharks or the media.

Brett Stewart had been allowed to play despite the crominal charges he is facing, why wasnt Bird?

i dont think Sharks did much to stick by and support Bird during this period

Saying that, Bird didnt help the sharks by not revealing all the facts and keeping everyone in the dark over preceedings.

i think rules need to be in place for clubs to abide by when players are facing criminal charges. these rule should protect the players and more importatly the clubs, so that situations like Bird's and Carneys dont repeat, because ultimatley, as Bird playing with the Titans and Carney with the Roosters proves, at the end of the day its the clubs, not the players that loose the most

I just wish Ricky stuart would enter the backs in the local oztag comp mid week. They can have some fun , get to know each others strengths and build both attacking and defesive co-hesion.ONE night each week midweek COULD work wonders. Ferguson MUST be fullback. he's wasted on the wing

PS sorry in answer to the forum, Chris Andersons boring flat flairless attack plan STILL haunts us

1. I think everyone can agree it all seemed to go seriously downhill with the Bird fiasco.

2. The solution? I have honestly no effing clue anymore. I don't know if something is happening behind closed doors involving Ricky and the team, or if the boys are just not trying, or if everyone treats training as a joke.

Why don't we look at it 1 win from 5. Last season to me is dead and it's unfair to hold it against the boys.

I couldn't give a **** about the Bird thing. His handling of the situation showed that he had no regard or respect for the club. I'm glad to see the back of him. Don't keep dwelling on it for **** sake. We won numerous games that year without him anyway. Give up on it already. I'm sick of people painting him as an innocent victim in all this.

1. All the off-foeld drama's the club has had during the last few seasons.

2. We, as supporters can turn up each week and give our full support to the team in this tough period the club is going through.

Agree we all know what happened to parra last year and in 2002 we were 1 win from 8 and made the prelim.

It shows that we have been "buy happy" with players instead of keeping players and upgrading contracts as they improve.

IMHO

The downward trend started the day coach Lang walked/shown the door.

Over the years since then things were getting worse from players up to and including the board members.

I believe that the appointment of Ricky as coach was a start to a rebuild era.
From reports last year there was also problems with internal bickering etc.

So this year with a total clean out, a fresh squad and sponsors as well as a new board we can start to look and go forward.

This year I believe is a rebuilding year, if we make the top 8 great if not ah well.

So if we work with what we got and build on that, then things will improve.

Also the support must be strong by the fans, though the good times and the tuff.

:cheers

We've won 8 games out of 35.

Things started to go downhill when:

a) Chris Anderson said Preston Campbell, the current Dally M medalist at the time, who was playing for us "didn't fit into his plans" and the board did not question it/ sack Anderson for sheer stupidity.
b) ET retired

How do we fix things? We turn up, have hope, and cheer our hearts out until we head in the right direction
