After that spear tackle, I am not so sure, Snow.

LOD is a good player but we already have Gal in that enforcer role.

Gal concedes penalties as it is, we don't need another player who does the same thing.

he's turned himself around this year.his discipline has improved considerably.

last night was an origin game so it doesn't count.

Actually I did really love the new promo for the cricket though, pretty cool hey Zak?

the one minor highpoint to a dreadful coverage of a football game.

Foxsports.com.au have posted player ratings for both teams.

Apprently Brett Morris was "The pick of the Blues players". Un-****ing-believable. The guy cost the team at least two tries and was horrible. Who did these ratings? Rod Morris?

Might as well throw my two cents worth in, pick it apart at your leisure...

Pearce... Way to replace an aging Kimmorley... with a guy who plays like Kimmorley. Looked solid in parts but fell off so many tackles it gave me flashbacks. Where's the spark? The creativity? It's not fair to compare anyone to Thurston perhaps, but really, your Origin 7 has to be an 'X' factor player and I don't think Pearce has that in him.
Hayne... One of many stars in the team who waited for their time to shine. Needed to be way more involved and take some responsibility.
LOD... what a brain fart. Goodbye, good riddance. Represents the old school of Origin that should have been banished with Johns.
Barrett... DID look old, but like an old head. Fantastic kicking game, solid in defence, reminded me of when we had a team full of Origin players, not a cobbled together crew of todays favourites.
Gallen... no doubting his spirit but he's a better player than he shows. A guy that hits the way he does should NEVER throw an arm at a player. He wants to be in every tackle and that's great, but use your body and flatten guys, not try and take their head off. It's bloody silly and getting irritating. He has had enough time to get that out of his game.

I couldn't agree more with the chorus of voices saying GET MEDIA OWNERSHIP OUT OF THE GAME. They can't seem to understand that talented players, close matches and good values together will make a strong sport. It's how the AFL have clawed so much ground from the other codes. The game is an absolute puppet, jerked around for ratings.
Watching the game, I couldn't help feel that the media spectacle was more important than the result. There were a couple of penalties given that seemed purely to give NSW a shot at the line. Coupled with that bull**** decision to leave LOD on the field (AND ignore the headbutt - way to set another precedent giving the thumbs up to pure, ugly thuggery) and you had a great advertisement for the ARU and AFL. I don't want to be emarrassed anymore that I support a Rugby League team.
Having said that, I enjoyed the early 90's feel, just want to see straight up fisticuffs and pure, controlled aggression.

Okay, this is the last paragraph...
Bellamy... Our game plan made our players look bad. Here's a tip: you're not going to pressure guys like Thurston, Lockyer, Folau, Slater and Inglis into errors or stifle them out of a game. They're too good. We handed them the series by constantly supplying the best players in the game with overlaps.

Whew. Thanks everyone. I actually feel a little better.

Rod Morris? I thought his dad was Steve Morris, the former Goons winger of the 80's.

Your not serious are you? I dont think a single blues player kicked anything worth calling an average kick all game. Every player was **** for the blues none of them deserve to hold there heads high. Hindy was probably the only player id consider picking again and with the C next to his name as well

Don't mistake a poor kick chase for a poor kicking game. Barrett came close to a couple of 40/20's and constantly kept the ball out of Slater's hands. What more could you ask for?
We're all hurtin' brother, but let's keep it real.

Hayne, Gallen and Barrett were the only ones that actually played decent footy on the field, like the ones that did their own job fairly well.

I want to agree (and do for Barrett), and on the surface it kind of looks that way, but...
Hayne. Could he play like Slater? I think so. He's got the talent but does he have the involvement? If he just had a little more urgency in his game I think we'd see more of the Hayne that can turn a game.
And Gallen, well, I've said it in the last post. Whacking guys in the head for a square up isn't going to get you anywhere. Satisfying, yes. Game winning, no.

All of these guys did the basics solidly. But is that all we expect from an Origin player?

Yeah good kicking game sure... except for that plan to keep kicking towards Folau. What good would have come from that?

ok, i know im a qlder, and i love ragging **** on nsw... but it gets repetitive... here is my insight on last nights nsw team, as it was shocking and all over the place

1 hayne... has been crying out to play rep fullback, last night was your chance and you shyed away from it, very disappointing, more was needed from you

2 monas... lol, how the **** is he a nsw winger. gifted the first try. michael gordon, nathan merrit, hell even idris would be spewing and laughing at this guy at the same time.

3 cooper.. your a myth, your rep career should now be open, and if i here peter sterling call you the best defensive centre in the game again i will blow up, **** box... lawrence jennings josh morris, hell even dean collis are better than you

4 scott... thought the debut in a crucial game was a bit of a stretch but he played very well, very impressed with him

5 morris... myth of epic proportions, looks good in a club team with a awesome 5/8 giving him service, and a australian team led by qlders... nuffy

6 baz... im shattered for you, tried your arse off, but i dont think you should of been there, i think soward should be nsw 5/8 of the future.

7 pearce.. stick with him, he is a good player

8 weyman... hard as nails, never gave up, the other prop cant say the same

9... bit disappointing... not creative in origin but is in club level

10 white... you pussy... absolute cat... 6 props off the top of my head better than you... tim mannah aiden tolman jason king dane tilse snowden and douglas in no order, i just didnt put our guys first to look biased

11waterhouse... mr average was that again

12 creagh.. 60 minutes and 3 runs... cat

13 gallen... hard ****, deserved to be there

14 gidley, see ya skipper, farrah should be on the bench

15 hindmarsh... well passed it, but played decent, look to the future and forget him

16 TLL.. played well out of position, should be persisted with

17 LOD... maybe went a bit overboard but its what he does, qld avoided running at him and gallen after that... and **** me he looks good in sky blue. in saying that i think your origin days are numbered

Better Folau than Slater... Not much better I agree, but look at the options!
And the blues got the chance to bash Folau a bit. Didn't do much good but probably the best bet given that they were facing one of the best teams assembled in any form of the game.
