I feel cheated as a blues supporter.
Sack Bellamy now and start rebuliding for next year. Get rid of the selectors now too.

All of this manufactured hoopla, pomp and spectacle is just an
Insidious means to farm you of your cash.

The circus is leaving town... let's get back to business.

Bring on the Derby!!!

Fitz you summed it up perfectly.

I'm sure we will have Gallen for this round, thoughts?

I think Gallen will be right, there was enough that happened after it.

I actually was cheering for Beau Scott, at least he showed some spirit, even if he got caught out a couple of times. I would have him there for the future. Pearce did enough to show he is the future too.

Barrett looked very old sadly.

All up in your pixels
Credit where credit is due, Queensland played brilliant. Still, ref definitely turned a blind eye towards them - how was Gallen's high shot any different to those of Myles?

One thing I did like, was O'Donnell. The tackle itself was stupid, but jesus christ no Queenslander wanted to look him in the eye one-on-one; even Dave Taylor **** himself.

Disgraceful performance from the Blues. Pure ****** disgraceful. I want to see Bellamy and the selectors heads rolling for this one.

the only good thing was atleast qld showd how **** we really are
the first games 4 point margin flattered us.....
dont particullay like gould but he talks a lot of sense whem it comes to nsw seletions having gidley captain on the bench then bring ennis off to accomadate him in a role that isnt his preferred position.....gal wont get suspended
well ricky may well get the gig next year now. would like to c a non club committed coach.. qld do seem to have the right formula in that regard

Yeah Dugan would be our best bet. Hayne is ****, most overrated player in league. If your sacking bellemy you need to get rid of our captain as well. **** Gidley off he is soooooooooo ****. Gallen was smart to stay out of the fight but **** me he is a dumb **** sometimes. Almost every tackle of his was borderline high or high. **** i hate NSW sometimes

Weak Weak Bellamy Picked Team

Doesn't everybody get the picture? NSW selectors and Bellamy have picked useless sides for years. That was one of the best qld sides in history and we choose a side that most of the good NRL sides could beat....

Apart from Gallen & Hindmarsh the forwards picked were hopeless - Sharkies have a far better pack than that.....

On top of that we pick Monaghan as a replacement for Tahu......

We'll never know how good Barret & Pearce could've been because they were playing behind a bunch of girls - ffs nsw stop picking these so called glamour players that I personally wouldn't trade one of out juniors for....

Death to Bellamy and the selectors - they haven't got a clue - or (more likely) there's too much favouritism in there

Maroons Win Fifth Straight Origin Series

Darren Lockyer’s Queensland emphatically stamped themselves as the most dominant outfit in rugby league State of Origin history with an emotion-charged thumping of NSW on Wednesday night.

In a bitter contest in front of a parochial Suncorp Stadium crowd, the Maroons iced a horror week for the dreadful Blues to clinch a record fifth straight series victory with a six-try annihilation, winning 34-6.

Skipper Lockyer and Johnathan Thurston again played superbly off the back of their brutal pack and the speed and skill of Greg Inglis, Billy Slater, Darius Boyd, Israel Folau and Willie Tonga did the rest in an outstanding team display.

It took Thurston less than 12 minutes to put both Inglis and Folau -- the two men at the centre of the racial slurs which saw NSW winger Timana Tahu walk out and assistant coach Andrew Johns resign -- in both corners.

The brilliance of the Maroons attack was almost overshadowed by the venom of the encounter with the match exploding 28 minutes into the first half with a spear tackle from Blues forward Luke O’Donnell on Boyd sparking a vicious all-in brawl.

O’Donnell, who also punched and head-butted a fired-up Dave Taylor, was extremely lucky to stay on the field, and the bad blood continued.

Fittingly, winger Boyd ran in Queensland’s third try three minutes later to virtually kill off the outgunned Blues at 16-0.

With the powderkeg burst, the rest of the clash was one-way traffic and party time for the 52,500-capacity crowd.

Mal Meninga’s ruthless team, the first to win five consecutive series, will now go to Sydney on July 7 looking to secure the state’s first 3-0 whitewash since 1995.

On the evidence of NSW’s lowest moment in 30 years of Origin, the besieged Blues will need a miracle to prevent them.

*Despite being on the losing side, Sharks Trent Barrett and Paul Gallen both put in outstanding performances and really gave their all. Barrett looked dangerous in attack whilst Gallen was relentless in defence and made a number of solid runs and offloads.

defeated
NEW SOUTH WALES 6 (B White try M Ennis goal) at Suncorp Stadium. Referee: Tony Archer, Shayne Hayne. Crowd: 52,452.
