Stewart Mills was a top bloke to me when i met him (however i have heard otherwise and he was blind)

Everyone probably remembers my story of going to carmens, meeting him, having a few beers. Nek minnut wake up at his house in bed with him (no homo) and drove me to the station still drank.

Shouted me like 10 beers, great guy.

When I was a kid my old man would take me around getting signatures at the touring car racing, in retrospect it was a good excuse for him to meet all the drivers.

They were all top blokes including Peter Brock, Dick Johnson etc.

The one who really stood out though was a really down to earth and humble Alan Grice. Two years in a row he answered the door and not only signed posters etc but invited us into his semi trailer, put the jug on and made a cuppa, (and this was about 45min before the start of the race).

Haha Dean Jones. I had the displeasure of sitting at the same table as him at a charity function a few years ago. Complete tosser and extremely full of himself. If anyone here ever meets him do not ask him about his double century in India all those years ago!!!!

Scott Prince - totally ignored my young bloke to get his flag signed, the rest of the team and coach had no problems and were great with it, even the coach shook his head.
And before you all start, the Titans are his second team of choice,

Every other person I've meet have been great, most always say G'Day and say hi to the kids.

The greatest sports person I ever met would have to be the late Peter Brock, always willing to have a chat with anyone, he gave back to the sport and fans like no other, many will come close, but there will only ever be one Peter Brock.

I was working Bathurst for his last year there. 04 or 05 I think it was. Brocky is a top bloke. He initially come up introduced himself then we talked for almost 45 minutes.

Tina Turner, up her self and if she dont get her eggs the way she likes them in the morning look out.
Barnsey, cool ****er to sit down and have a smoke with before he was to go on stage (always looking for a lighter lol).

I Wouldn't call any NRL player Star they are just sports people to me.

I've worked probably 10 barnsey gigs. Was working one day down at Mingara and I was on the dressing room door. We chatted throughout most of the day. Met all his family. And funny moment. I remember this because it was after he come out and said he was off the booze and didn't drink. He had a bottle of vodka hidden under his leather jacket. Took a swig just before going on stage he turned to me put his finger to his mouth and went shhh. I just had a chuckle with him. Top bloke.

Haven't met alot of Stars but when I was younger on seperate occasions I met Luke Bailey and David Peachey.

Bailey came to one of my training sessions for rep footy and got in among us to talk to us for ages and had a game of touch footy with us then proceeded to provide us all with signed dragons posters (I told him he should play for a real team and he just laughed).

Then through my club side we were due to meet up with a few Sharks Kimmorley, Peachey, Phil Bailey, Simmo and Chris Anderson. I'd just gotten to the ground to meet them as everyone other than Peachey was leaving as it had started to rain. I was so crushed as I wasn't going to see any of them, then dad pointed out Peachey in the crowd. He stayed back in the rain for a couple of hours talking to all the kids and signing their jerseys etc. Since then my cousins have had a fair few interactions with him as they are from Dubbo and they've always got him to sign things for me and they send them to me.

Angry Anderson would have to be the nicest dude in the world. I went and said g'day to him at newcastle airport once. Pleasantries were all over and I headed to the bar. 20 minutes later he comes and sits with me to have a beer and a chat. Probably spoke for half an hour before I had to drag myself onto the plane

Love reading this thread.. It's amazing how a chance encounter can make or break a celebrity or sportsperson in peoples eyes. I expect it's even worse now with the whole twitter Facebook thing.

The whole concept of celebrity is lost on me. They eat and crap just like the rest of us.

I have however met a heap but a couple of stand outs both ways.

Linford Christie was an absolute champion bloke. Has all the time in the world for a chat and was genuinely down to earth.
Cuba Gooding Jr last year while filming a movie here on the Gold Coast. Really nice guy.
Have had a few with the boys from Pennywise... Twice... Now that is FUN!

Worst... Hands down.... Big Kev. Yep the cleaning guy. He wasn't particularly excited. I have met plenty of ********s in football and cricket circles but he is... wait.. WAS by far the worst I have met. I had the displeasure of sitting next to him on a flight from Sydney to Gold Coast. He had his head so far up his arse his prostate proposed marriage.
