Bomber's probably not in the position to tell the board what he wants. Sounds like he tries, but so far no cigar.
But is definitely in a position to take 100% of the responsibility.

Also I have suggested before as a rookie coach he had two halfbacks he was comfortable with, Chad and Flanju. He lost Flanju so he was more desperate to keep Chad. He wanted to make sure he had a halfback he could depend on to direct the team around, something everyone in the NRL says Chad does well (even if the majority on here disagree).

Personally I haven't seen any evidence that Chad had no other offers either, as far as I am aware the only basis for that is the people saying it don't think other clubs would want him because they don't.
All I found in a quick google was him saying he did have interest from other clubs but I guess we will just assume he is lying right?

Spoke to a mate yesterday who is heavily involved in Qld/SEQ junior reps. He rates Rivett massively and was annoyed we got him away from the Titans.

That was what was reported when he was signed, but it was incorrect.

He moved to Sydney as soon as he finished grade 12, play 21’s next year and will be part of the main squad in 2022.

Willison I think his surname is. He’s contracted to the broncos atm. If anyone wants to see more there is a few highlights of PBC vs Keebra floating around on Facebook. The other half for PBC (weaver I think) is a pretty handy half also. Rivett was MOM in one of the finals V Keebra too

Not 100% concrete but in latest pre season video Bomber lists Rivett, Martin & Lualua as being development players, then separately mentions Iro as being another young player.
Putting Rivett with the other two instead of Iro suggests Rivett may be that 6th Dev player (and actually named Rivett first of the three when talking about Dev players).

Bomber also highlights Pele, Ronnie, Hiroti, Wilton & Nikora out of the players who have been back at pre-season since day 1 as impressing so far.

Further he highlights that an element to the change in training is to adapt to repeat high speed efforts demanded in new game and that their training leading into trials will focus on 'hard work and defence' also noting ball control and discipline (so they will focus on most things I guess...)

Realistic, but not such a great look to be highlighting some many things as needing work..!
