Cheers egg. He looks pretty awesome really. I remember we had a centre that player like that, a few years ago.... Ramien, I think his name was

Be nice to see him back getting early ball from a decent half back

True , just a massive source of frustration that he never gets early ball in space to utilise his skills

He has to learn to catch the hall first, and SJ to throw it. The amount of times the backline was set to get him the ball, and they didn’t know what they were doing. I lost count how many times the ball hit the ground

Another guy who should be contract status unknown I guess is that Ryan Rivett?

Worth noting also that at this stage Bronson is still very much considered in our top 30 as far as I am aware so we have just one open spot currently.
It's therefore probably reasonably unlikely we will sign any more top 30 players before Bronson is off the list.

So if Bronson goes, plus hopefully Billy to the Dragons that leaves 3 spots in the top 30 plus we have one development spot left.

This squad is going to look VERY different in a few years

Could look extremely different next year
While there are a few I think we will keep / want to keep only the following are contracted for 2022

2. Teig Wilton (2023)
3. Ronaldo Mulitalo (2023)
4. Sione Katoa (2023)

12. Jensen Taumoepeau (upgraded) (2022) (u21)
13. Franklin Pele (upgraded) (2022) (u21)
15. Chad Townsend (2021) (Player Options for 2022 and 2023)
Luke Metcalf

Up to half our top 30 squad could change without anyone even leaving before contract is up

I can see at least 6 that won't survive

CRONULLA SHARKS
Players off-contract: 15

Some huge names on big coin off-contract for the Sharks at the end of 2021 - and it could see mass changes to their roster.

Shaun Johnson, Josh Dugan, Matt Moylan and Aaron Woods are all on sizeable contracts and it will be interesting to see how things play out there.

Bronson Xerri is also off-contract, but that will all depend on his ASADA hearing.

Full list:

Josh Dugan
Mawene Hiroti
Shaun Johnson
Will Kennedy
Nene Macdonald
Billy Magoulias
Matt Moylan
Kyle Patterson
Toby Rudolf
Siosifa Talakai
Aiden Tolman
Chad Townsend (2 year player option)
Connor Tracey
Aaron Woods
Bronson Xerri*
*Xerri has been provisionally suspended over a doping violation.

That's why I'm such a massive fan of us getting Mooney, and probably why he came back too. We've got a really good core of gun young players locked up, SJ and heaps of cap space to play with. Mooney did a really good job of fixing the Knights but we're in much better position than they are. Better juniors and more cap space.

Lock up Toby & Talakai on top of the list that are still with us and keep SJ provided he is back to full fitness next season and we are just a couple good signings away I reckon.
A few other guys who could be good to keep on too, at the right price and/or if they continue to progress.

So if Bronson goes,

Just thinking, didn't Bronson turn down a $500k/season upgrade on his contract so he could bump up his price with a good year in 2020.

Pretty funny - he could've been taking home $500k this year to sit around doing FA.

Pretty sure.
There was talk that the Roosters were sniffing around (obviously) at the time so he may have even thought that he could have snagged a gig with them for a contract around $150- $200k per season! 😉😉

Rivett’s status isn’t unknown. He is staying with Burleigh for 2021 and will join the Sharks in 2022. He will still be eligible for Jersey Flegg when he arrives.

With regard to Xerri, while the Sharks still have to pay him, the team was allowed to replace him in the top 30 last year. There was a note on this during one of the full updates to this thread back in June/July.

Sharks have stopped paying Xerri as of November 1st, it's sitting in a holding account till this is over. If he gets off (ha yeah right) then he gets paid.

I think we could have stopped paying him a while ago but guess we're nice. Probably helps to not burn that bridge either, if he gets a reduced sentence like Jack just got he could be back before his 21. That's younger than Ferris is now.
