Some of those comments from Hannay are very alarming when coming from your coach. The below in particular…

"You can tell in the early stages for us how we're feeling and looking with how we're going to play.

"It's visible in the way we carry ourselves with things like line speed and kick-chase … all those effort areas.

"We want to see that from the outset on Sunday. We'll know early on if we're up for the game."

It’s just Hannay glossing over it as far as I’m concerned.

More excuses except the one that’s correct.

I agree.
I noticed an attitude change from SJ as soon as he announced the signing with the Warriors 3 or so weeks ago and was probably the first to call him out in the game thread.

I get the family thing but as others have pointed out, it’s his job and people in other careers (eg armed forces) miss family events all the time.

So I’m hoping that he does now show some professionalism and “bounce back” for the remainder of the season to help us into finals contention. From there, who knows what happens???

Every coach who’s ever coached rugby league has said that.

You have all week to make sure they are up for it

Totally agree Flanno. My football career, er no, it certainly wasn't a career, more like what I did to fill in time Saturday arvos, ended about 1957 with Caringbah D grade. I'd been tackled and my head hit something hard in the ground at Woolooware Oval. As I sat there waiting for the stars to go out and the ground to stop tilting I noticed some slick bodgie type chatting up my girl and decided that was enough for me.
I was half OK but pretty skinny, but unless you attended one of the colleges you had limited opportunities at the club. Plus I thought that either cricket or tennis was my go.

Anyway, I digress. What I wanted to say was that our coaching consisted of a jog around the oval and some passing practice before the game, so I can't even imaging what it must be like to be part of a coaching system that most NRL clubs have in place.

It seems like they have a coach for every imaginable activity including speech and life activity coaches.

Now I haven't been around the NRL club scene for a bloody long time, but with attack coaches, defence coaches, and who knows whatever coaches, I have probably been mistakenly thinking that the head coach's main job would be to make sure his players heads are definitely in the right space, before they run onto the ground, and not wait to see how they are travelling for the first twenty minutes or so, when they have possibly already been blown off the park.

Even though I didn't agree with the Bomber dismissal, at least the instigator seems to be passionate about the club succeeding, something that our stand-in coach seems to lack, as does our current Captain.

Just my two bobs worth !

:lmao Nope B & B, turned 80 last month, and ****ting myself about getting my first AstraZeneca jab next week as I have a compromised immune system.

Lol no worries mate, so you were a teenager in that story. I'm 20 years younger, but have had both AstraZeneca shots, no issues at all.

The thing is, your compromised immune system is more of a reason to have the jabs as soon as you can, rather than any potential risk.

As my Nephrologist said, if I don't have the vaccine and catch the virus I'm dead, but if I have the jab I probably wont get the virus. Bit of a no-brainer I suppose, but I can't help feeling a little bit apprehensive.

If things don’t feel right after the vax just go to hospital. Bloke I know had some shortness of breath so he went in, blood clots on both lungs, they got it sorted, kept an eye on him for a few days and he was all good. And obviously the adverse reactions are the big time outlier. By far the safer option to get vax especially in NSW atm and with compromised immune system

Natural to feel apprehensive I reckon. But mate, you risk heart failure every time you watch the Sharks and still do it, so I reckon you're made of the right stuff to face a jab or two.

I’m nervous about the jab too.

Having Pfizer one tomorrow.

I’ve had blood clots in both my legs at separate times so I’m a little apprehensive.

Thanks mate.

I’ve had my two doses of Pfizer, both times I had the same symptoms. All good same day, really tired the next evening. Sore arm for a few days but other then that all fine.

The blood clots are AZ (even then, extremely unlikely). No reports of blood clots from Pfizer. You’ll be fine.
