**** pokies
Spot on. Clubs pay player salaries from NRL funding not from their own club revenue. That revenue really means **** all in the scheme of things anyway. A club with **** loads of coin doesnt instantly mean successIs it accurate to imply players would have to take a pay cut?
NRL covers their wages for each club, do they have pokies income?
If not then no pokies means possibly more sports betting anyway, to make back some lost revenue.
In Perth as far as I’m aware no pokies except at the actual casino and a Perth team won’t be paying players less
Exactly look at Parra. 38 years and they have won **** all.Spot on. Clubs pay player salaries from NRL funding not from their own club revenue. That revenue really means **** all in the scheme of things anyway. A club with **** loads of coin doesnt instantly mean success
Yes they are entitled to it but its still a ****in blemish on societyThe club is entitled to have pokies and should maximise the revenue they offer.
The punters will just find somewhere else to get their kicks.
38 years and counting!Exactly look at Parra. 38 years and they have won **** all.
All gambling is a blight but sports betting is the same. No one is saying that should be canned and I'm pretty sure money from gambling comes to all clubs.Yes they are entitled to it but its still a ****in blemish on society
And it's glorious!Exactly look at Parra. 38 years and they have won **** all.
Plenty of people lobby for all gambling to be canned champAll gambling is a blight but sports betting is the same. No one is saying that should be canned and I'm pretty sure money from gambling comes to all clubs.
I think the limitation on pokies relates to the population of the area, not specifically one club but all venues in that area. Pretty sure they only grant x amoumt of pokies lisenses (each machine has its own) to the region so if its at its limit youd need to wait for another venue to close to get moreI thought there was some policy in NSW that was current back the number of slot machines that a club can hav.
i agree with bWB on this one, concerts other events at the ground is a must. A happy balance of a few slot machines and other events would have $$ coming in, and once thr governments be serous of them removing the issue , we can slowly retire them out. plus it would keep us on the good side of the corporate social responsibility bit.
Or you buy all the venues (like Panthers). They own around 10 to 15 clubs in the region.I think the limitation on pokies relates to the population of the area, not specifically one club but all venues in that area. The should have just saved up for their first house deposit by 19 like Dutton. The pokies give young people without family support one off their only chances to get enough money together for a home deposit. Steady savings doesn't cut it these days. Thank god for Bitcoin, sports betting and pokies.
I remember the days when Sydney Olympic played a couple of seasons in the dying days of the old NSL at Shark Park (went to a couple of games myself) but they ****ed off to Kogarah for the NSL's last year as their crowds were atrocious.Yeah **** thr pokies. Theres a massive shift in society and clubs reliant on them are going to be scrambling when inevitably people stop playing them.
Gotta find other ways to make money as well. Having our own stadium is key. Get some concerts going. Utilise that field as much as possible in the offseason.
