Limitation for Pubs - 30. Not clubs. Licenses aren’t cheap though per machine and difficult to come by as clubs trade them around a bit.

Don’t be surprised if they need to drop a whole lot of coin on the gaming floor/support systems. It’s now ancient compared to all other gaming dens in the shire, truth be told it was ancient before they closed up.

When I start to hear about movement on that side of things(in the industry) I’ll actually start to believe we are closer to opening, clubs generally don’t reopen without it.

People get creative though

Bloke who has owned 1 of the 2 pubs in my home town for years decided to buy the other pub a couple years back.

He immediately closed the new purchase and moved all the pokies over to his pub.

Was the cheaper/easier option

Stupid they've dropped the Sutherland part of the club name.

Just as moronic as us dropping Cronulla-Sutherland from 1999-2003.
I think this was the NRLs push to try to expand reach of teams beyond certain suburbs etc.

Eastern Suburbs became Sydney City then Sydney.
Canterbury-Bankstown became Sydney Bulldogs for a while there also.

I remember before we signed with Superleague we all got sent a letter from the Sharks about the potential switch.

Initially, we were earmarked as being the Cronulla-Sutherland Super Sharks! Lol.

Has anyone noticed any work on the leagues club lately? The times I go there (early/late) there doesn’t seem to be any signs of people on site, or any work in progress. Maybe there is middle of the day though. I thought it was just the Christmas/January shutdown, but that should be well past

Yeah I don’t even mean in the club. I mean the exterior/facade is still completely unfinished, it looks the same as it did six months ago or more. There’s a shopping trolley lying discarded in the middle of the deck.

Everything that's not related to the physical club itself is complete (ie units, shopping centre etc).

Anything connected to the club (ie anything not part of the contracted works itself - including external facade etc) hasn't been touched.

OK thanks, yeah I'm just confused, as I thought some of the roof and facade work was going on in parallel. But does the facade have to wait for the "handover"?

---

For example, there was some work happening in Feb last year:

index.php

And they finished the deck last July:

index.php

But since then... nothing. It's like the North Cronulla Surf Club.

The whole things cluster f. mate.

It's basically all tied into the club. Some work was initially done for stability and waterproofing (for the shops underneath).
