Yeah I saw it reported recently he could discuss 2015 still while banned, although I'm not sure if the emails that were 'uncovered' relate to that or related more to the 2014 season.

Sounds like Barry, not having been present or involved, has deferred to Flanagan whether to fight it or not.

SOURCE ABC years ago - doesn't say about rosters the year after

Flanagan is still being paid by the Sharks and could potentially return this season if he meets criteria laid down by the NRL.

For this to happen he must properly observe his suspension and complete an intensive education and training course that focuses on his responsibilities as a coach.

He must also have no involvement with the team, coaches, players and sponsors of the club.

Based on this sentence as a standalone there is no reason he couldn't chat to the CEO about which players he'd want to retain for next year, sign up or really anything else.

Think egg meant to share this here not under Kyle's page, but this line was particularly interesting

Having been allowed to secure his own future at the club beyond his suspension, Flanagan doesn't believe his responding to club officials' emails about player retention and recruit from 2015 amounts to effectively coaching the Sharks in 2014, as he stands accused of.

Would be amazing if NRL backflipped due to them registering his contract in the first place .
It seems the main criteria of conditions.
Was NOT to coach, NOT to contact players and 2014 staff
If NRL registers, they already know some contact made with club hirachy or they would of caned him then and there

Hasn't worked that well for the Broncos. Cash isn't everything.
Really? Apart from Melbourne they are the most succesful club premiership wise in the post 1988 era and easily the most profitable. And when they were under a salary cap prob their ceo (A Gee) resigned and wasn’t able to be be questioned. Nrl didn’t confiscate there servers either. Coincidence?

They were probably smart enough (sly enough) to remove any incriminating emails anyway...

Yeah but more recently? They are critically under performing and have been for a long time.

They have everything stacked in their favour and we are performing better than them on less than half the resources.

Happens all the time in the business world.

Let's grind this out like we grind out a win. Teams hate that we cna just dig in and grind away when they'd believe we have no right to be competitive with them. Let's get that as our public statement. We'll grind through anything because they can't keep a shark down. In the end it'll make it more frustrating for others than us.

Are we the new old Canterbury and are they the new old us?

Yep. Would hate to be in business with some of you knuckleheads.

Tell me since you’re so “business minded” what have we gained from all this ? And don’t say integrity because that’s ruined for atleast the next 5 years.

Would love to know ?

What we've gained won't be apparent for another 5-10 years, hopefully.

Historically, apart from the rare exception, we've been run so unprofessionally it isn't funny.

Time for change.

Not once have I heard you vent your anger at the people that actually were involved in the breaches.

And I'm not business minded, I believe in doing what's right.

You just seem so busy preaching your side of the argument but you're not even so sure yourself it will even gain us anything. Interesting.

I don't condone cheating I've said that more then once, I'm upset we have lost the best coach we've ever had who gave the club that top 4 DNA we have now who brought the players we have and the youth system we have, upset were broke and we have no sponsors, I love this team like everyone else here. I think what's very important to note is that we have done no wrong club and coach since the '14 suspension bar these emails and the 50k amount.. yet we've been hammered big time.

So I just wanted to take your opinion on what we have gained from all of this. BTW no one was calling for time for change, I'm pretty sure we were all happy with how we were going.

All good

All good

Mate, we've been hammered big time because we did wrong. And we weren't clever enough to cover it up like the other big clubs.

I'm gutted Flanno's gone too, I think he is a big loss and it may take some time before we get our mojo back.

I'm very concerned about the playing group and what mental state they are in at the moment.

I think the big thing here is that we are all looking for someone to blame. And if we're in one corner, we all want to push the blame to the other corner.

I'm not sure we can blame one actual person. Flanno was silly but the club also was for contacting him in the first place.

People want to blame Barry as well for self reporting but it may have come out again down the track even if he hadn't.

We've just got to move on. Support the guys who are left and get behind them.

What did we gain from being drug cheats? Two long coach suspensions, two disrupted seasons, loss of sponsors, big brand devaluing and a massive loss of respect for the team.

What did we gain from backing the drug cheat over Damien Irvine? We shot our golden goose in the head and now we're paupers again.

Google self-inflicted FFS.

Serious incompetence SIM card in wife’s name and burner phone chat till ya tits fall off..
they must have not understood the terms of the ban is the only thing I can think ove, hope there is a loop hole.

I’m also not a fan of two coaches in a waiting caretaker mode. Fight it or move on... another ugly sad chapter in this mighty club.

I think this bit is telling,

Greenberg said he rang Flanno yesterday morning ‘ Greenberg said it was a very short conversation.”

Hmmm I can only imagine what flanno told him probably only three words
