I'm very keen to see him and Ison potentially break into the side full-time together. That would be a massive injection of pace, something we've lacked for ages.

Berrell may not be needed now but let's not pretend Blayke has been beasting it consistently for the last 2 seasons cause he hasn't. Fans were right to want a point of difference and to bring something else to the role (at the time).

Never ceases to amaze me how quickly people are willing to move Katoa on for a shiny new toy. I don't think alot of fans appreciate what he brings to the team. He's a damn good player. He's also very good in the air for a short winger.

Stonestreets going really well but the only thing he really has over Katoa right now is height and a higher top speed. That isn't enough to usurp Sione for a wing spot who offers so many things in attack and defense.

Sam's potential isn't going to fade away in a season and we don't need to panic that someone else is going to scoop him up. Plenty of Sharks players have bided their time in the lower grades waiting for a full time gig.

Stonestreets time will come but Katoa's is far from over.

Can’t find the Katoa thread, so will post in here.

Sam gotta come in for Katoa in my opinion. Katoa too much of a weak link. His defence is dross.

Absolutely zero chance it happens this year. You need experience in finals.

Also isn’t that edge one of the best defensive edges in the comp ?

If it is, that’s great. There’s been too many weeks consistently now where he’s just standing in no man’s land

Jesse has made some bad reads last few games, Katoa can only do so much defending a 2 on 1 and he had to defend next to Talakai a bit today when Jesse went off

Sione been pretty good in defense most of the year and made some good tackles. If defense is the criteria then Ronnie gets punted first

100%

Katoa got beaten by his own stupidity against the Warriors, whereas Stonestreet was a victim of numbers / overlap every time they scored down his wing.

Does he get a start next year?

Do we go with Ronnie and Katoa still?
Yeah unless one is injured, if they are both healthy they are our guarenteed starters.

An alternative being we release one during the off season but not sure I see that happening yet. Katoa was one of our best against Panthers.

Didn’t start Stonestreet over Ronnie or Katoa when busted so he’d have to improve a lot to jump them if healthy.

I don't think Fitz will start him, but it could be the wrong decision.

I believe this side needs to find some 'extra gears' and one way to do that is to inject Sam's pace into the side. I want him to get 20+ games in so at the end of the year he's comfortable and has time to build into the defensive system.

Over the course of the year, I see Stonestreet as someone who could win us games through a key break/finishing off opportunities we otherwise wouldn't. Sione will be more consistent and play at a high standard, but he's rarely a game breaker.

If Stonestreet doesn't get a regular spot soon I think we lose him.
