The same Dragons that extended coaches then sacked them, the same club that released Jack Bird, Cam Mcinnes ect.

I'm not putting much stock on their reading of talent even if Flanno is at the helm he is trying to fix a salary cap cluster **** and they are still a terribly run club.

Sharks rarely get a signing wrong these days. Burns doesn't have to kill it, just do a solid job allowing Williams and Cam to keep playing their current role.

Some commentators still have big wraps on Burns. I forget who, but it was a former player, said that he thought that Burns was a good buy for us and would be pushing for a permanent place in our starting lineup this year.

I can't say that I agree with the last part, but he might just turn out a lot better than a lot of us think.

Yeah don't agree with the last part either but I did think he was a good buy and expect him to be a solid to good fill in if picked

No one is anywhere near pushing Teig or Nikora out, not for a very long time and it takes alot more than 1 bad game or injury/suspension from an established player to see them replaced and that assumes Burns was carving up.

Burns is big enough to play a Jack Williams type middle relief forward type role though if required but we have alot of middles at present.

Even Hiroti could fill in at second row for a game + gives us that outside backs cover.

Often against stronger opposition and even as a starter.

Yeah his Round 1 was poor and he has had other lowlights.
But he also, for example, put in a pretty solid stint starting against a solid Roosters pack in hot form in a final last year.

Tuks made a good start to his Sharks career but it's far from a guarantee that exact level of play moves pretty seamlessly to 30-40 minutes week in week out against actual good sides. In the short, mid or even long term.
There was a try and 4 errors while he was on, he didn't even see too much football I expect. Burgo will know haha.

No offence to Tuks but I hope that's his one game for the season as we need to keep our middles healthy. The fact our 10th choice middle has given us a good cameo appearance is great. Hopefully he's better for the run, and a good look at depth for us and club.

I had Royce outside our best 17 but see no reason he has fallen behind Tuks.

Pretty much my feelings. His performance in this game and the two trials shows that he can do the job when called on. Very low minutes with very high possession though. My guess would be 6-7 minutes at 65%.

Any time Royce has a stint like this the forum loses their minds over him too.

In the role Tuks was given it was a 10/10 performance.

So for me the smart thing to do would be to give them both minutes throughout the year and rotate them on and off the bench a bit. As soon as there is a bit of a niggle with one, play the other. Play for a couple of weeks and then swap, keep them both fresh and hungry.

As we’ve seen through 2 games, plenty of players will get hurt/suspended anyway. Probably don’t need to force anything.

Some will naturally occur. But when travelling well the smart thing is to keep players fresh.
