I was liking the way Holmes and Flash rotated their positions to give each other a rest when needed, smart move.
Would also confuse the opposing team as well.

End result is it payed off.

It seemed it was Gordon when defending and Holmes when attacking. Whether that's how it was intended its injecting Val more into the game which is what we all want and is clearly working.

Stil played dumb footy. How could how gameplan coming in be bombing for our midget wingers. Took about 6 failed attempts before we changed tact.

Prior to yesterday, we had not won a game since July 26th last year. That second half felt like it went on forever and I was pulling my hair out in the last 10 minutes but I felt so relieved when it was all over. Hoping that this carries on now and we go on a streak.

The bombs were high enough to allow our chasers to get in and trap them in the corner, we did well to control their field position for most of the game we just got tired and let in a couple of sloppy tries

Thank god for that, nearly got chucked out of the Sea World resort last night due to I think a chicken supporter on our floor apparently didn't like my Son and I celebrating like we had won a premiership did get a fair few go the sharks on the way out today though even by the porter lol

Happy to see the youth in the team, made a world of difference just hope flan doesn't change the line up just for the sake of Barba happy to see him on the bench if we can.
Seemed to lose our way with both Ennis and Gallen off at the same time but that couldn't really be helped as **** happens sometimes.

And another thing....Bird may be the answer to our woeful kicking problem. He had the smarts and the vision to see Holmes score that try and then put the ball where it should go.

When he has a few more games under his belt he will have even more confidence to try some clever kicks.

Could we finally have an attacking team now that we have confidence from our first win?

I think we will still be a grind it out team at the core but our youthful talent will at least get us some points on the scoreboard to defend in the later stages of the games, plus we won't be bored to death watching the game

so a funny story, a mate of mine was in the city last night and saw mitch pearce blind

he told him to have some water and prepare for the game

pearce told him to **** off as its only the Sharks

its in my FB page, check it out

lol this validates 2 things for me.

1st that the Roosters were complacent despite roosters players comments in the media in the days before the game suggesting otherwise.

Secondarily that my impression of Pearce at the pre-game interview was that he was a bit dusty. After watching him play I was thinking, yep that boy is probably hung over (not that a shocker is beyond him naturally)
I had the same thoughts about Maloney, the guy looked like a zombie all game. Would not be surprised if he swung back a few bottles the night before

If you want to play hungover you've got to train hungover.

It's like being in a band, there's no use rehearsing sober if you're gonna play drunk

Except for Andrew Fifita though, he didn't really look all that bothered to me
Yeah those 45 involvements in 49 minutes is the sign of a lazy player who doesn't give a damn.

There's a lot to be said for a patient game plan. Sometimes you have to lull the opponents into thinking they are ready for what is about to happen.

Lewis runs the ball in that exact spot 5 times without even looking like passing. On the sixth time they expect the same thing and he pops it inside to Bird.

Robson kicks high to the wing 5 times, shapes up again but this time drops it short.

Everyone suggesting it took Robson too long to realise his tactic wasn't working doesn't understand the concept of a patient game plan.

Funniest comment from the Chookpen was "we got outplayed by Jeff Robson - a 50 year old journeyman/part time carpenter"
