That was worth getting up for this morning. Mind you, I'm glad the young fella didn't come downstairs to watch the game with me, because my language was a bit choice after the rorters scored their second try.
Nice one Birdy.

One of the good things about this game and how Bird and Holmes stamped their authority in the side is that we finally are in the position to say "no more incumbents"

With Barba coming back and Gagan waiting in the wings every player has to bring their A game or play for Newtown the following week.

Fafita will have Prior breathing down his neck and it was a relief to see him playing mistake-free football instead of the rubbish he had been dishing out over the last four weeks. Perhaps Gallen will see the sense in playing for 60 minutes without feeling that he has to carry the team on his back.

He probably won't. They score their only points when he was off right?

Glad we saw more Holmes at FB, but he defn didn't start there and seems in defence maybe Gordon was doing most of the FB duties.

Nothing better than jumping on the other teams forum after they lose. Roosters one's going into meltdown hahaha.

glad I didn't go back and join yas lol

It was ****ed.

The place i went you're not allowed to wear sports clothes or sports jackets on the day of a game, because you might start a fight. But i turned my jacket inside out and they let me in haha

I watched the televised game this morning. Roosters discipline was really poor - seems that they must have been thinking it was going to be a bit of a cakewalk.

I think it's interesting to compare the last 5 games and compare match stats. Completion rate and errors well addressed this week. I don't think the game plan has changed much - just the execution is much better. Interesting to note that we've done better with less offloads too.

Good stats this week.
Nothing fancy, just good football.

Need to continue with this mind set into next weeks game.

This is what I have been saying for some time. Any game plan is only as good as your execution of said plan. We pretty much beat ourselves in at least two of the last four losses.

The other big improvement many people have overlooked from yesterday was in our kicking game. Spreading the kicking duties around meant that the defence were not able to come charging out of the line at the kicker, which resulted in more time for them to produce an effective kick.

The only downside I saw was a lazy performance in the last 15 minutes in defence. Too many time, a Roosters ball carrier was tackled one-on-one, with no Sharks player coming in to wrap up the ball. This lead to a big increase in offloads for the Roosters which, subsequently, produced line breaks and tries. Luckily, two of them were ruled forward or we would have had a different result.
