Even that game you mentioned, didn't we shut up shop and nearly lose it ?
Admittedly we slacked off a bit in the last 20 mins and allowed the Roosters back into the game which narrowed the winning margin quite some. The Roosters did lift themselves up a bit though

So still a 80 min performance evades us but nearly every team, even the best ones are guilty of this

When we are doing our one out runs, why does it seem like we always run straight at the markers. It really caught my eye last couple of games. I know we don't have to much trouble marching up field but why do we stop gaining metres once we hit the 20m line. We should just keep barging over, even if we are held up it's better then our kick results. We will only give away 10m and one less tackle.

Really want to see how we go this week.

Flanagan said after the game that he has no other options in the halves, so I wouldn't be surprised to see lewis or wade there

Bird bird bird the bird is the word. Jack bird needs a shot at 5/8. Graham is crap at 5/8. Lewis would struggle to put a keno on and not hurt himself.

Yes , Bird to 5/8 and Murphy to half .
why should bird be 5/8? What have you seen from him to suggest he should be thrown into first grade to play 5/8?

I haven't seen a lot of Bird, but from what I've seen he looks more like a guy that should be hitting holes rather than putting other guys into them. But, I've only really seen him play in the nines.

It's a pretty big ask to have a rookie come in and play in an unfamiliar and important position too.

what I took from the nines is that I think he will make a decent centre, there were also good signs of this in the highlights package from last weekends nsw cup game

The only time you'd entertain the thought of putting bird in at 5/8 is if we had a halfback like Pearce, DCE or adam Reynolds etc etc, someone who can control the game and a inexperience half like bird can ease his way into the game, playing him beside robbo would be first grade suicide imo

By all accounts Bird and Murphy were outstanding for Newtown against Penrith. They need to be in the mix but I guess it will be same old Flanagan mentality stick with the under achivers.....
