We also recieved a few calls. Leutele hit the gagai pass out we got the ball. They got a knock on called when it came off the shoulder. Most games both teams will recieve a fair share of dodgy calls.

I hate blocker but his point about 5 or 10 in the bin for repeated ruck penalties on the try line is almost now a neccessity. It wasnt til the 70th minute that gal got the caution. If they just binned someone earlier on u wouldnt see it happen again

Or, you would have 11 on 11 after 30 mins!

The calls we got though we were already in a dominant position.

We didn't get gifted anything out of our half from memory.

The leutele knock on (that we got back) was on half way, their knock on that was the wrong call was our defensive end.

Newy did not get any help from the refs. They got help from yet again, maloney bouncing off tackles and when he does make 1, laying all over them. They got help from our unforced errrors.

They will save those big calls for the finals series, incase the storm broncos or parra look Like they need a leg up, against a less fancied opponent.

I think there were way too many penalties for both sides throughout the game.

The refs just need to keep the whistle in their pocket and let the ****ing game flow.

Then we'll see some fatigue and the fitter sides should prevail.
I like also that penalties should result in a kick for touch. Just go with six more tackles.

Theres just too many penalties in the game period. Refs are now looking for ways to penalise a team.

With 20 penalties a game it averages at 1 penalty every 4 mins. We want to see a flowing game, not start stop ****

Players should be penalised when they break the rules. One of my pet hates is referee's calling players out to not participate because they're offside.

If a player isn't intelligent enough to know they're offside they shouldn't be tipped off about it, they should be penalised.

I thought Maloney was pinned a few times today because he is Maloney. All the talk that he is the most penalised player works against him in 50/50 calls

I was super impressed with Jesse and Capewell today.

Capes was in everything and played both edges and a bit of middle at one point, the guy is versatile. A really strong debut from Jesse and gee he could be anything with some more time in first grade. Really good headache for next year.

Gallen was immense and Ramien very good on his NRL debut (but he'd showed some promises against Wigan already). Good start, but we reverted to our usual $%*&#!! self after 25 minutes.

Among the (many) things worrying me, here's this: How many times did our wingers touch the ball at the end of a backline move today? I counted only one (Feki in the first 5 minutes). Is there a force field around them?

I loved Fifitas offload to prior to lead to the Brailey try. Teams number up on Fifita, and most times he takes them all on and looks to offload, but the pass at the line is a nice option.

Prior's pass to Brailey was fantastic as well for a big man.

Agreed. Very good game from both. Capewell looked more comfortable on the right than the left, which is understandable. I was impressed by Ramien in defence. It's hard for young blokes to get that right early on. Very good start for the kid - he looks s good prospect. Nice to know we pinched him from a Manly.
