So some of you morons are suggesting the Captain of NSW, isn't up to being captain our side? There are about 14 other teams in the comp that would love to make Gal their captain.

14 other teams blowing smoke up his ass

I haven't yet seen a post explain why he is such a great captain on the field and what he does other than "lead by example with his individual actions"

That is exactly what he does, and what is clear to every observer.

No-one on here can hear what he actually says on the field, so how can anyone make a real judgement on that?

Someone should tell him to frantically wave his hands in the air after the opposition has scored, just to keep the forum happy.

This captain talk is still going on!!! You don't need a (C) next to your name to be a leader on the field. Take us back to when Gallen wasn't captain and everyone thought it was highway robbery! He does his job as captain. All this talk has brewed from the fact we take the two points when on offer.
I wonder how many times we would of failed to score if we had taken the tap. Get over it, he is captain, support him. Up CRONULLA & onto the finals after we give the cowboys a touch up tomorrow night.

Quick question fellas.. It's the grand final, we are behind by one, we get a penalty right on front of the stick with a minute remaining. Do we take the tap or do we take the almost certain two points?

That's what I thought.

Good post imo.

I hope for dear life we go for the two!

We do take 2 points when it is on offer way to much. Not sure we have won too many games by taking the 2.

Would like to see us go for the try or at least and get a repeat set out of those situations.

Happy to have Gal as captain. Would like to see him back us to score a try rather than kick the goal.

... Sharkyboy takes the tap

Cronulla loses 20-19

No my "are you serious" was at the fact that you would honestly have to be an aborted baby to not go for the goal in that situation.

You pick the kick when appropriate obviously.

Exactly no one here or anyone playing the game would not take the 2 in that situation. Ask the same question with the same time remaining but us being 4 points behind. Yep just as stupid question to ask.

However Matt dunning may disagree

I think the point is that it's hard to know when kicking the two is 'appropriate' when it's early in the game. If it's an easy two, Gallen has obviously been instructed to take the two. As would any Sharks captain who has been instructed to do so.

Those complaining that we take the points are the same ones who at 80 minutes would complain when we lose by 1.

I get confused by the speed and predictability of mind changes that occur on this forum.

Kick at goal successful - good move
Misses kick - need new captain.

It's losing by 1 when we have been grinding it out and taking the 2 all game that's worthy of complaint. We try and defend leads with very mixed results.

Funny but not quite. Even slotting the 2 doesn't always make it a good decision. Beside it's not just the 2 points with Gal, it's the apparent lack of talk and direction when we really need it

Then go back to my "you don't need a (C) next to your name to be a leader" comment.
Our direction should come from our halves. Gallen doesn't kick it dead on the last (much).
This apparent lack of talk and direction is according too... Who exactly?

You think Gallen has been instructed? honestly half the time we take the two is when the other team is out on their feet and would struggle to hold us out, the team wants to take the tap and gallen just comes in and calls for the two. And do you think gallen would listen to anyones instructions when in the heat of the battle? he takes over halfback when 'he feels' the team is struggling.

mate take your gallen glasses off and look at the bigger picture. hes a control freak.
