The only man who should be accepting and raising the premiership trophy if we`re fortunate enough to win, is Paul Gallen. Don't argue.

Understand what you're saying Jig - but let's face it - players want to play with Gal because he's Paul Gallen - not because he's captain.

There's some sense here, and I'm drunk as ****. Thank god for auto correct

But you look at the players we attracted in 08 when Gal was captain.
Then Baz got the captance and we got **** all. Then once Gal got it back we recruited very strong again

I don't think taking the C off Gal is the answer. Last time it just zapped his confidence and lead to **** on-field performances.

Maybe we need a VC or co-captain to provide him & the team with verbal inspiration, whilst Gal can continue as he does leading by example.

Yep I'd be happy to go for a co-captain. And the man for the job is your avatar. But I'd be happy for Wade Graham if we lose jez.

No ones suggesting 8 captains.

You're missing the point. We do need Gal, but the team also needs verbal motivation on the field, and Gal doesn't appear to be up to it.

Almost very year he had been captain we have made the finals. If that ain't doing what's right I dont know what you expect from him.

How'd we go in 08 compared to when Trent was captain? It had nothing to do with who was captain.

I tell you what I remember of captaincy in 2008. The Prelim Final against Melbourne - Turning in one of the worst defensive performances I have seen and Gal standing behind the posts looking blankly while fans around me scream for him to do something, anything to address the Rot. Was one of the most heart breaking and frustrating things to see that unfold just a few metres away.

I know they were cheats but seriously we could have done better in that game if our heads were on and we had some leadership. I blame Ricky just as much for that display.

Yep, that was a shattering experience. I got up at halftime and went for a little walk because I needed a bit of time to myself. I've never been as quiet during a game of footy as I was in the second half.

Mate how bad was it? I was so optimistic before the game, having a good chat to fellow sharks fans at the Olympic across the road from the ground. I felt like my heart had been ripped out during that game, I've never felt as low as that during a footy game.

I've been reading a lot of the post regarding Gal having the Capitancy taken of him. Quite simply no no no no no. You can't, if you are worried about him taking Penalties all the time speak to Flanno as most of these decisions are made before the game based on the team we are playing. Sometimes getting a penalty inside the 20 taking the kick is best. This is because some sides when given a chance to set their defence are very hard to score against. Sides like Melbourne and Manly you take the two because it is easier to score off them in the run of play then it is when they have a set defence.

If you are worried about motivation thats why you have senior team members, one of our best on field talkers is Wado and Jezza but that doesn't necessarily make a good captain. The captain of a 1st grade side needs to do the media, the sponsors etc its not just enough to get the best on the field but you have to have a big enough presence off the field to attract the spotlight.

So some of you morons are suggesting the Captain of NSW, isn't up to being captain our side? There are about 14 other teams in the comp that would love to make Gal their captain.
