I just don't understand why Barba comes on so late. Not only reffering to tonight but why not bring him on during the first half as opposition forwards are getting tired, we were still in the game at that point. During last weeks game I remember wishing he'd be thrown in at about the 25 minute mark, it just seemed that at that point it'd be ideal for an impact bench player to cause some damage. I don't really agree with Feki getting hooked for him either as he always seems one of our most likely.

After that performance we have bigger issues anyway but it's just something which bugs me.

Have not read the thread yet. Sorry Sparkles. But my views on the game are went through the motions the first 20 but didn't apply the D. The early 2 is only good if you defend it, which we obviously didn't.

I'm not distraugt over this loss. We've We've beat Roosters, Cowboys, Dragons before they slumped, Raiders in a tight one at home, Bulldogs at Belmore, Warriors across the ditch and Cowboys again recently. We do not have the kicking game to get us out of trouble so our go-forward has to be top notch and I think it just didn't/couldn't do it again tonight.

I'm not one to bag the refs much but it there were 2 sets of rules around the ruck out there tonight. They laid all over us and we were penalised for much less. It squared up a bit but we were given penalties on the 1st and 2nd inside their 30 - not as helpful as when your 60 out late in the count.

We ought to come out hard against the Tigpies. Conceding 30 without crossing the stripe should kill any ego and we have a good opportunity to ease back into our rhythm with Tigs & Parra. Again its all on us and our defense as to how far we go.

I think most played well. Just as a unit we didn't combine in D or our limited opportunities in attack. It was Melbourne 2007-8 with ruck speed but we weren't allowed a millisecond. No momentum, no Sharkies - we're like a 4/10 chance to kick out of trouble, no matter how hard Ennis tries. That one repeat set off the grubber from Robbo was off the back of Ennis dummying a kick and opening it up beforehand.

I don't wanna get into a Robbo-bash but I just might.. He had 1 good kick tonight where it went over the first line of D and bounced a couple times before anyone got on it. He had another which was like a long grubber through the line which was slow enough for the chase to get up. Other than that it was especially bad, Bird too. Must of hit defenders BODIES (not just legs, their ****ing torso) 3 times and legs another couple.

We're not a side with a gun player who can pull us out of a 2 try hole off nothing. We all gotta be 7.5/10 minimum to win. I'm more worried we're running outta gas than talent at the moment.

One thing I have noticed since we have been winning is in defence we are having 3 in the tackle trying to hold them up and top player dragging them back. While this has worked I think it was exploited last night by a smart footy team who knew how to react to it. We were taking them back but the next tackle there wasn't any line speed and we back peddled abit. Think that's more to do with cam smith good service from dummy half though. Think we need to stick to this structure but have to be more dedicated like the weeks before.

Nothing more really needs to be said the refs were bad and let them get away with it in every tackle, I really hope flaano asks why the rules have suddenly changed.

Oh and anyone that says we didn't need Fifita needs their head read we needed both our big boys.

People are wondering why we didnt put Barba on earlier, did you see what happened when we did put him on?

He's injured. He probably shouldn't be playing at all. When a small guy loses his pace to an injury he's a sitting duck.

I'd rather we just rested him until (at least close to) fully fit.

Yep in all honesty he should have sat it out he is still getting over his injury obvious he wants to play but now he has another the refs were letting the Storm get away with murder thus it was a waste.

How could you not love this cheeky monkey? :)

I agree, the guys just looked a bit battle weary. A few injuries from previous campaigns and us a step off the pace gave the storm all they needed.

I'm not worried about this result. Like Chad said, it may well be the loss we had to have. But... We play again on Saturday... That's a really short turn around for our battered troops. That concerns me.

Was it gal or ennis said we are a team that everyone needs to play well, didn't hapoen last night from the get go, everyone that looked at our draw and was offered 8/10 wins would take it in a heartbeat... My only bug bear is the 2 games we lost are to the 2 teams that always seem to have our measure, it may be more mental than anything cause we were in better form than both. Shirt turnaround d this week just hope barba and lewy turn out for us this week

I won't be heartbroken if Flanno rests Benny or he is out injured. He needs time away at the moment, he's obviously not 100% fit. Need to have him fresh and free from injury for the finals if that is possible.
We will have Taga back for the Tigers game and I'd just have him on the bench as a straight swap for Benny or put Taga in the starting side with Prior on the bench.
