My comments on the game:

Lewis started poorly but made up for it

We had no energy in the first half yet should have been well rested after the bye. The whole team looked liked they were backing up from Origin. WTF are they doing at training - is it optional? The forwards were busting out of all our weak tackles. It's a disturbing trend that our intensity drops of significantly after a bye.

Can't just make blanket statement that our backs were poor. Feki was good (liking his footwork) and Stapo excellent IMO. Sharkyboy can be proud of that performance, let no body down tonight. Good hands and some nice runs. Matt Wright was solid but that drop towards the end should keep him resigned to NSW Cup even if it wasn't a great pass from Carney. Poms surprisingly caught some tough passes and even covered up once in the in-goal but him getting turned around in defense late in the game was classic poms. Needs to be dropped and released for good. Jono Wright weant ok other than some arm grabbing in first half.

Carney had his best long kicking game in ages, found the grass more often than not but was forced to make more tackles than he should have. Made some good ones but also got steamrolled. In any case he looks a better Origin prospect than Pierce/Maloney. Tried his heart out.

I said before the game we needed to do a few simple thing to win this. Discipline and match the forwards to cut down on Thurstons space. Both were terrible. Cowboys attack was nothing special but we were too soft up the middle and close to the line at various times.

Refs were the worst on field, particularly the first half. Both sides got away with a criminal amount of forward passes as well.
Well said Gards, the fact that the cowboys were ordinary too makes this loss harder to take, we will not make the 8 if this continues.

I don't understand why we don't use Jono Wright more often.

I swear when he gets the ball with a little momentum behind him he looks like our most dangerous outside back.

Because the obsession with back-rowers means that on attacking plays we basically use them as our centres. When we do spread it, it seems to go to Poms side more often than not.
Even when our centres do receive the ball they get it flat footed and with no depth or pace so an easy tackle.

What about our support play...when we made some breaks.. There was nobody within coo eee to take the off load.....barba or even Gards would have had a field day and nailed some 4 pointers...if they were in the team...

Actually despite his lack of size, Gardner would be an upgrade on Pomeroy....in the centres. But I would rather see Lewis take Pomeroy's place, and Gardner as hooker where he could bob up everywhere for an offload from the forwards aka Slater style - just some creativity PLEASE.

Watched the game tonight at Club Menai. Before the game my missus wasn't keen for me to go as it's around the time my young fella has his bath and gets ready for bed. In fact she asked me three times today if I was still going up, probably hoping I'd feel sorry for her and decide to stay at home. And now, I wish I did.

We were extremely poor tonight. Even at only 10-4 down I couldn't see us getting up. It's already been mentioned but I just don't understand our line speed defence. Or lack of it. Fine if we don't do it for part of the game to conserve some energy but WE DON'T DO IT AT ALL!

Frustrates me how teams consistently make 60 metres or more on a set of six, yet we struggle to make 30 or 40.

I've never said this about anyone but Poms has to be dropped. Keep an ear out for me on Talkin' Sport this week, I'm going to ask them what they think of Pomeroy. Only thing is, even though their reasonable blokes, they never watch our games so they'll probably be kind.

Anyway, roll on to Friday. A new game to look forward to but victory is required in a big way now.

We were hoping to land a place in the top 4 after tonight, yet we get toweled up by a team in the bottom 3.

We're not taking the opportunities given to us so we don't deserve to be there right now

We're a long way off being a top 4 team

Gameplan was really good tonight and aspects of it were executed perfectly. Greenshields is a poor fullback and we targeted him with some beautiful floating bombs from Carney. He didn't catch a single one. Unfortunately our finishing of these was piss poor.

We're just not a good team, that's the brunt of it. With team we select we have to take advantage of every single opportunity that presents itself and it's not happening. Our completion rates are always poor and our attack is bland, boring and predictable. There are simple ways we can fix this, but unfortunately as we see every week, it won't happen.

So, Wade Graham... shoulder charge or no? I thought he was pretty hard done by, personally. This new ruling is pathetic and is seriously harming the game's aggression and excitement.

I actually thought Wade got away with a shoulder charge early in the game, agree that the rule is rubbish

i thought the penalty against De Gois for what was deemed a dangerous tackle was absolutely soft

It's beyond a joke but unfortunately it wont be fixed because the nrl are too pigheaded to even save the credibility of their own product.

I'm missing Born & Bred, you haven't given up on us have you mate?

Has already declared his innings for the night, too upset with the loss and DeathMoth trying to get him onto Twitter

It was utterly ridiculous that decision. It was more arm than shoulder, in fact he was pretty much backing out of the tackle. If it's not a clear cut shoulder charge then let the game go on you ****ing knobs in pink
So sick of games being a penalty/kick for touch fest over nothing.

It's one thing for the NRL to introduce new laws but their lack of consistency or ability in actually executing upon them is ****ing embarrassing.

We are a nine carat boring footy team at the moment. Win or lose we are devoid of ideas. It's like watching the one out stuff of old that sharks dished up in the 90's. We've made carney look bland. They have to start coaching some decent attack or get some players in there that actually know how to. Wade graham is a ball player and we use him as a battering ram with the odd flat pass. At the moment Lewis looks like our 5/8. This team is treading water at the moment, and if we don't start swimming soon we'll just drown.
I almost turned off at the 65min mark out if utter boredom.

Just watched the game then. What an absolute joke of a performance. Pomeroy to needs go!!! Plain and simple. Carney needs to learn how to tackle. Lewis shouldn't of played by the look of it. Our defence is ****ing embarrassing. I seriously don't no what the **** they do at training. They must just all hang out at flanno's house or something. We do not deserve to be in the 8 after that performance. Flanno is not the coach for our club, has no idea how to coach, doesn't have the balls to drop **** players from the team, no attacking ideas whatsoever, can't even teach a group of men to get off the 10 while defending. CHANGE IS NEEDED BECAUSE I AM ****ING SICK OF THIS CONSTANT ****!!
