Mate, that looks like a football team.

I reckon Tautai's majorly down on confidence. I suspect its because the coaching staff have little confidence in him.

btw- You're right, Cuthbo's carries were a lot better. I thought he had a good game except for that tackle. But it wasn't him getting stood up or a bad read I don't think though- to me it was a lazy/tired/shortcut miss. He was sliding too early, and not being honest in covering the inside ball, if you get what I mean. Disappointing, and I think its the sort of thing that got him dropped in the first place.

Yeah, it was definitely a poor read. I'd be bitterly dissapointed if he was dropped because of it though. He was fantastic apart from it.

All this talk about our bench props, we've finally hit a groove where it seems like a nothing switch and halts absolutely 0 in attack. The only bench forward who I felt let our attack down a bit when he came on the field was Broderwrick Wright.

Pretty solid game by the Roosters, hitting hard in defense and spreading the ball wide in attack. Amazing what Pearce brings to the team.

Starting to have doubts about this one.

It always happens to us, we always play teams like this when they've come out of a run of bad form and are hungry and in top form.

It'll happen with the Tigers too, just you wait.

If the horrendous weather we've been having in Sydney of late stays away on Saturday night, we are a chance.

I know Easts were impressive against the Gold Coast last night but I am sure the boys will be hurting after our loss to the Shetland Ponies on the weekend.

The team we have on paper is nowhere near as bad as a lot of our critics in the media and the fairweather fans make out.

If we do what South Sydney did on Sunday(I think their completion rate was 99% from memory) then we can win the game.

Ball control is vital and we can't afford to do anything stupid when we have possesion.

With Smith's erratic form, do you guys think the suggestion for he and Porter to be fighting for the spot based on form has merit? I'm worried that Porter is going to find another club to get a chance as a starting half and we'll be left with a demoralised and inneffective Smith.
Don't get me wrong, I like Smith, I think he has plenty of ability but mentally and emotionally he is shot at the moment. Some support and less pressure would probably help.

roosters are a hot and cold team, they just played there "hot" game and they will be backing up from a solid run against the titans on a monday night..

Hopefully Easts will bring their cold team to the game on Saturday night.

You have a valid point in saying that Monday night will have an affect on them.

Most teams backing up from the Monday night game struggle with the quick turnaround.

Easts will have a 5 day turnaround where as we have had a full week to recover.

I just hope the lads have learnt how to hold onto the football at training this week.

I just hope that Pomeroy doesn't resurface in the team again.

Tautai was ordinary but if we want to rectify the completion rates and ball control then ol Brick Hands (Pomeroy) should stay well away from the team.

How is Tautai better at winger, though? He's as slow as Covell, and we finally just got rid of that guy (in a sense)...

You're exaggerating his problems in defence- he averaged 1.8 missed tackles at centre last year, which is well and truly in the bottom third of the NRL centres. About the same as Izzy and Collis.

Stats don't really tell the story here mate. Wright rarely played a full game and I can remember at least twice when bad misses by Wright cost us the game winning try. As I said, these problems seemed to be exclusively when he was defending on the left. I thought his defense when playing right centre was spot on - he just never got the ball on that side.

Also - a terrible read is different from a missed tackle and doesn't show up on a stat sheet anywhere (because you were out of position and never actually "attempted" a tackle).

I am happy for him to get another go, and ecstatic if it keeps Poms out of the 17, but just want to highlight that he does have a history of defensive errors when playing on the left.

Again - I haven't seen him play this year. It's possible (or likely) that the coaching staff identified this in the off-season and that he has been working very hard to fix it.

... and god help us if we hold Folau up as a shining example of how to defend in the centres. He's always been a liability.

I have big wraps on M Wright and hope we keep him long term.

In regards to his' defensive lapses, he actually single handedly lost us 3 games last year (not 2), saying that he is only young and he was prematurely chucked into fg
