Players wich I believe are definately high quality first graders.

Fergo - Everyone loves this kid, will be an awesome player when he improves his' defense
Pom - played city / country, a number of clubs would probably go for him, his' catching problems should be fixable (as Beau scotts have been)
Collis - got to wait to get over injury
Barrett - State of Origin last year
Smith - Undoubably a skilled ballplayer
Morris - is a Solid utility definately should be playing FG
Aiton - Was one of the best at the panthers last year and has been good this year
Snowden - SOO quality
Douglas - SOO quality
Gallen - One of the best couple of forwards in the world
Tupou - Quality, but we need more
Millo - Has become a solid first grader over the last year and a bit

That is 12 quality first grade players, yes another 5 make up the team but players like Stapo, Cuthbo, Vave, Gordon & Kelly have huge ability and shouldnt drag a team from being competitvie to not being.

For mine we have a decent lineup which is full of good individual players, that are massively underperforming as a team.

Our backline is average, you can talk it up as much as you like. Furthermore, the club should have made it a priority to keep Seymour and De Gois. Seymour made a mistake, so what, get over it and let him continue to play and give him a stern warning, was a storm in a teacup and he gets sacked. Fraser Anderson was also a bigger loss than people think. A very under rated player. Put Anderson De Gois Seymour Bird back into this side and you have a 1st grade squad worthy of competing with the best.....................

I’d like to reiterate my opposition to Ricky Stuart being our Head Coach!

I understand that we can’t pay him out, so I think we should all be asking he walk away as a matter of individual pride – I mean, doesn’t the guy feel ashamed of what’s happened on his watch? Really, Mr average himself Stuart Raper didn’t even perform as poorly as this guy? Caretaker coach Flano until we sort something out.

I don’t agree its cattle either because we’ve got plenty of experienced players, including 3 x starting internationals taking the field week in week out. Ive seen it before, the players dont want to put in for him anymore.
In fact, I do understand that Mr Stuart has a history of turning good players into worse players? Roosters – Monahan, Anasta, Myles, Finch all went from good players to crap under Stuart (plus he pissed off Soward) then they all reverted back to decent players after he left. Pomeroy, Barrett and Tupou all use to go better before Stuart?

I don't think any coach is going to do better with this squad and that is the reality. The players that have left the Sharks in the past few years also left with high 1st grade experience. Experience playing 1st grade cannot be bought....Fraser Anderson, De Gois, Kimmorley, Bird, Seymour..............you can say get over it, but this is the very reason the club is doing no good............Blame who you like. And for all the Kimmorley haters are we doing better without him? NO.

No we're not, and nothing against Noddy but the Dogs aren't travelling so great with him on board either.

As for the other players you mentioned, I am also upset that they are no longer with us but the fact of the matter is that they're gone and they won't be back, so let's move on and look to the future.

A brief off-topic comment here... gee the Dogs seem to be missing El Masri for mine this year. Just goes to show the impact of losing even just one of your quality players.

People always under rate certain players in a team. It's like us between 2008 and 2009 thinking "we were great last year and now we have Barrett and Tupou we are going to be on fire".

And the Eels this year. The people they did lose has really hurt them and then Poore has been very Poore!

Daley's opinion means squat.

If the opinion of a man who has played 244 first grade games (most alongside Ricky), won 3 grand finals, and skippered his state and country means squat.. you're a tough judge.

You'd reckon Daley would say something like that seeing they're surely great mates from their canberra days.

I think he can be quite an astute judge myself, but his origin selections aren't reflecting that I've got to admit.

Sticky is the man for us. He has done a good job with limited funds. I am happy for him to be here for as long as he wants. For people to suggest he should walk away they need to look at themselves.

you sum it up spot on mate, its amazing how people think buying a few or one market player will fix things, like the broncos buying izzy, and having to release a whole bunch, I bet they wish they could trade israei for hannant, ennis, stagg and the rest.

Also to quickly address the calls for Flanno to replace Ricky, either in the interim or long-term; don't you reckon if Flanno had some magic quick fix idea he might share it now?

We’re not going to get any better; I’ve lost all faith in Stuart. I’ll continue to call for his resignation no matter what is said on this forum.

There is definitely a problem between Stuart and the players – you can see their not responding to him.

I predict if Flano took over it would lift the pressure off the players and they would respond more favourably than Ricky’s current strategies.

If that is the case then there is not only the issue of Ricky's management skills, but whats to say the insubordination won't set back in with Flanno? They're professional athletes earning good coin. If you don't like what the boss requests of you, find a new job.

Look at Newcastle in 2009. On their form they were set for a run in the finals. They found out Brian Smith had signed with the Chooks for 2010 and they all went to ****. Very unprofessional of the players. So the Knights tell Smith to pack his bags early and appoint Rick Stone to the top job and they come out and win a few looking like a rejuvenated footy side, but how long did it last?

Roosters 2007 - Roosters are going busted under Chris Anderson who walks, leaving everyone's mate Freddy Fittler to take the reins. This coaching gig is a walk in the park and Freddy wins 8 from 8. They then wrestle the wooden spoon from us the following year.

Its even going the other way at the moment with the Bulldogs. Bulldogs win the spoon, bring in Kevin Moore and a host of big names and have a great 2009. They're 1 from 5 for 2010, like us.

The quick fix doesn't last.

Ricky's contract is up when, end of next year?

Nothing wrong with putting some feelers out now. See who's interested.

My profession has a set 'season' like football and I know that when a big job is up, the earlier you advertise the better the applicants.

Fisk/Irvine may be thinking a dual role next year?

watched the footy show tonight and listened in to the billy slater interview with gus,
they spoke about the success of the storm and what was working for them given they have made 4 grandfinals
first thing was the coaching staff and the confidence the coaching staff give the players ,all players have a job and are not trying to pick up other players jobs
players coming in from other clubs and those players ease in because they also get given a role to follow
made me think the coaches has a responibility to ensure players are producing the goods in a way performance does sit on a coaches shoulder and made me think rick might a problem i like rick but geez
alot of people say our side is shyte which they right at the moment but we have 8 players who have played rep footy, i can not understand why we can not score points
i am dribbling at the moment can not sleep thanks for reading my dribble though

and if a new coach does come in steve folkes would prefer him than brown
