I do see where fitz is coming from with all the nonsense spreading onto every thread. Nowadays when I post something it's usually followed by "JamesRobert" then "Don't you mean JimBob Bob" and so forth when it's just not needed. I know I've dribbled my far share of nonsense over the 3 years I've been on this forum but now after hearing someone as well repsected as fitz saying its getting to much well now I'm just keeping on topic in the general discussion. But the Jibber Jabber thread better watch out

Seems like the forum is being divided between those who like to call a a **** a **** and those who like to call a **** a homo sapien referred to in terms of a female sexual organ. Which is fine. There's nothing wrong with that.

I've never understood why people give a **** about rep. What's it good for? What can you do with it? I don't take anyone any more or any less seriously because of it. Why do you need some green squares to tell you whether to bother reading something or not? You can tell for yourself can't you?
Anyway, my 2 cents:
One of the most important characteristics of this forum is that it connects Sharks fans- its an opportunity to make friends but it also 'grounds' those fans who can't get to Endeavour very often with the rest of the Sharks community. That's wonderful in my opinion, and 'Team Gronk' is a great example of it in action... I would love to see more of it happening actually. But that said, sharksforever.com isn't just about that- its an archive of Sharkness being stored for posterity, its a way to inform Sharks supporters and call them to action, its a place for Sharks fans to talk all things Cronulla and many other things besides.
So its not just a place to chat online. That's obviously a major part, but when it starts to be detrimental to other Members' enjoyment and to the usability of the forum, I think it becomes a problem. And certainly, I think people sometimes forget that they wouldn't have this place at all if it weren't for the work of a few- especially fitz. I'm not sure many of us realise how lucky we are to have him. You want a Premiership? He's one of the guys who are getting this Club there.
Personally, I've been getting increasingly disillusioned with this place of late. A lot of the posters who were around when I first joined and with whom I liked discussing all things Sharks (and from whom I learnt a lot) seem to have left. For a variety of reasons I'm sure, but I know some of them cite the shift away from footy talk as the part of it. I'm talking the likes of Megashark, IronShark, bort (who is/was by far the best banterer on here too IMO, so that's a blow), Shiredad, BUZ, Great White, KELPIE etc and more recently the likes of Sixgill, slide rule, SF, PMQ_Tony and Capital_Shark who all seem to post much less frequently than they have in the past. All high quality, respectful posters... and they can all tell a joke as well.
So while there's a place for most (legal, respectful, Shark-related) things here, what we post does affect others, and the site doesn't run itself. Maybe we need a few more footy/Club related threads, a few less posts with more *s than letters, and just a fraction more thought put in to what we write before we write it. Especially because every time you click to post something on here, you're representing your Club- you might not have a jersey on, but you are saying to the world 'this is what the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks are about.'
That's more like about 8 or 10 cents, so I'll be quiet now.

I agree, and I have no issue with this forum, its people or how its run at all. that is why I post,
with the exception of that comment in bold.
Guys please keep the personal attacks out of your posts.
I cop more than my fair share and I usually either ignore them or take them on the chin depending on the context of the discussion, But I have to say that every now and then they get out of hand, and is imo prob the only thing dragging this forum down,
The guys who run this forum do a mighty fine job, they dont always get it right though, but they do it with good intensions and we are all benifiting by from that by having this forum.
We all enjoy this forum and want it to continue so we should respect what the mods ask of us. If they get it wrong and people stop posting as a result then they can only blame themself, but I cant see that happening considering how long its been going for thus far.
The team gronk thing is great for the sharks and this forum and could grow into anything. Thge bulldogs have a similar thing on the kennel, called the bulldogs army, its a much bigger concern and has its own section within the forum, and it is restricted to only those involved.
I think the Sharks team cronk thing could grow into something the sharks club could be proud of if managed properly, The sharks more than any club need to get supporters to games, and things like team gronk encourage that.\
Fitz,
I think its important for you to embrace harness and controll team gronk for the better of the Sharks.
In a nut shell, I support team gronk and think its great for the Sharks and this forum, and think it has the potential to grow into something huge if managed properly,
If not managed properly, its just a bunch of yobbos having a good time, that may get out of hand thus the posibility of bringing down the forum, and posibly at a game doing something silly that could tarnish the Sharks reputation.
btw for those who may not know, I am not involved in team gronk. My support of it only goes as far as the potential benifits I see for the Sharks club, and the fun it brings to this forum.
So guys please allow the mods to controll the fun so it can continue for the long haul.

Sandman, I think you may have confused Team Gronk with the CSSC (or T-shirt Army).
Basically, what Team Gronk is is a bunch of mates getting together to talk and watch footy. Nothing more or less. To use yr words, we are nothing more than yobbos out to have a good time. We aren't officially affiliated with the club and have no intention of being so (unless it means we get a giant neon sign over Gronk Hill proclaiming it as such).

Isn't the Bulldog army similar to the CSSC they have there own bay were they sit every home game their own forum that only the members can enter?
And Im sure many other clubs have the same areas..
surely i count as an original member? haha i liek to think i have a good mix or personal opinion, serious talk about the cronulla sharks and the ability to muck around and make jokes.
i think we perhaps needed something like this as a wake up call and to bring attention back to everyone about these situations.
