Yeah I've been thinking about this more - I can't see the majority renewing at these prices, so yeah there will be a truckload of GA members next year now...

Perhaps we'll just invoke squatters rights on all the empty grandstand seats anyway.
Haha, yeah I'm sure there will be plenty of seats available-just gotta get past those pesky workers at the top of the stairs.

By pushing a lot of seated supporters to general admission can you imagine a Sharks v Dragons game? The hill will be black, white and blue and the EC will be red and white. Makes me want to vomit that those bastards will be more comfy than a lot of our supporters.

Irish pub?

o'donoghues is the only irish pub to be at...

on a serious note, i've sorted calmed down now about the membership mess.

yep, i have to admit, i was looking forward to the 10 newbies sitting in the best seats in the house with me, but oh well, back to the hill it is.

what i have the utter ****s about, is that i will now be seperated from Bryce (deepbluejaws) and his family for the games.

and i know his son Byron will be devo not to be in the cage this year.

now im fired up again

yeah its ****ed. As much as I probably enjoyed myself a little too much at the cowboys game, the Tigers game where you were the pig was footy at its best IMO. Our team was smashing em, we were rowdy, great seats, great people around. Was looking forward to doing that more regularly.

The **** thing is, the pricing is somewhat fair, on a per game basis, but to go up by 50% or nearly 100% if you were doing a family pass is ridiculous

With me being a student it has worked out alright. Get the concession rate for the PB Stand at 213 bucks pretty reasonable at 17.75 a game

looks like i will be sitting in my cssc seats with no one around me next year!

i renewed, but geez i am annoyed with the price increase. they used the excuse that they changed the grading of the area from cat 5 to cat 4 (fair enough due the great location), but geez it wasnt the cssc's fault they were assigned those seats.

small incremental increases over the next few years for renewing members is the way i would have gone, and im sure everyone would have been happy about that. its dead set robbery from the club to charge an extra $500 for a family pass

my sons gals pals cost $10 more than last year (an acceptable increase), what i dont like is that he doesnt get a hat in his package this year. they harp on about slip, slop, slap etc, and they cant even supply the kids with a hat to wear to the footy?

I agree, i have followed the sharks since day one and i always buy a flexi 5 because ican't get to many of the games because i live south of wollongong. I will keep supporting the sharks but i do understand it can become financially difficult for some.

The reason why the CSSC was moved further up towards the halfway line was because the Club wanted them to feature more in the "camera arc"

Plenty of movement, noise and a big slab of colour makes for good television coverage.

Makes perfect sense what doesn't is slugging what is a powerful marketing weapon more money to turn up.

I'll be renewing my family seat in The Cage and it seems I'll be quite comfy with lots of elbow room to bang the drum! Not happy with the price hike but I think the seats were underpriced when you consider they are probably close to the best seats in the house. Pricing last year certainly seemed to be discounted on certain areas from previous years for some reason. This has caused alot of the outrage, IMO.

Some truth to this, but when a seat least than a meter away is 33% chaper and superior seats are the same price it leaves a unpleasant taste. We have already lost a few from our little group of members

I agree, for years most of the sharks seats have been underpriced or really good value, now I think they have gone up to where they should be, maybe a little more than they should be but

this like alot of things but. we used to charge 650 for a basic air con installation, we kept that price from when i started in 2003 til 12 months ago, that was with rising copper costs, rising labour rates, rising fuel costs (when i started fuel was under a buck a litre). we have only recently revised this and basically start at 750 for a small unit, 800 for a larger......people ask why the price hike, and we say it wouldnt seem so bad if we didnt undercut ourselves for so long

The cost of labor for the staff they employ on the day and electricity to run the joint may have gone up over the years but FMD they rape us on beer, food, parking ect. Not to mention terrible half-time entertainment and thanks to NRL rules you don't even get a full 80 mins of actual football being played.

I don't go to the footy cause it's good value - it will never be good value with the current NRL administration. I go there to get pissed with mates, support the team, abuse officials and hope with clenched fists for a good win and usually have a great time doing it all.

They say seats are undervalued? Really? Is that based upon actual supply and demand for seats or some arbitrary formula? Most of our home games had plenty of spare seats and space.

The point I am trying to make is that the price hike would not hurt so much if other parts of the package (drinks/food, parking, merch, entertainment, 80 mins game) were actually reasonable.
The club needs to hire some inspired thinkers if their best idea to increase profits and membership numbers is stinging families and the supporters club while not making any noticeable improvements to other areas of the game day and membership experience.

I've been thinking about it more and would like to get a cage membership x 2, but there's no point if half the people I go to games with are on the hill.

The thing with the seating, CSSC in particular. If you go to 12 games per year at $385, that works out at a bit over $30 bucks a ticket.......Whats normal GA if you pre-order from ticketek? Or buy on the day, $25-30 bucks. So at $385 a season ya stll better off in the CSSC than just buying a ticket every second week. Although, if you are on the corner with us, you get ya moneys worth in listening to some drunk prick yelling abuse at a bloke whos missus I used to know who got beaten up by an ex sharks player.........now that is a day at the footy

My argument isn't about the ticket price in isolation. The True Blue GA, individual CSSC memberships ect when broken down on per game $ and considering you do get a pack with some Sharks goodies in work out better than paying each week. I don't have a problem with them. The Flexi-5 worked our brilliantly for me last year and I thought was a great buy.

However the overall game day including anything you have to buy at the ground (beer is a given for us) is not great value. So prices for certain memberships go up because all of a sudden they are re-categorized and deemed "undervalued" yet will they review their price for a simple ****en hotdog and deem that overpriced? Are they going to improve the service? Give us something worth watching at half-time?

The NRL as a whole for far too long has thought it has a better product than it actually does. I'm not just speaking for myself, I somewhat oblige the over priced items in the interests of a great drunken time out at the footy, without a care (other than the score board) and at my club which I support. However many fans are turned off and bringing a family along would be no small task.

Btw I know all about the drunk prick yelling abuse at a bloke whos misses you used to know - I was standing right next to you ;) Great times
