Petition to Cronulla Sharks Board - Keep Greg Bird!

Hi Tragic. If the petition was worded differently I may have signed it. Please explain what you meant by “Also we would like to let it be known that the double standrads shown by our club over other incidents by other players and officials is not acceptable”.

Aligning allegations made against other players can be misleading. We don't know 100% what G Bird did yet, however we do know that he lied to the club and therefore its fans.

To tell you the truth I still dont know what to think.

Examples of Incidents involving current players and officals that were not stood down:
1) Ben Pomeroy - Assault (He was charged and had his day in court)
2) Tony Zappia - Assault (No criminal charges laid but Industrial relations compaint is underway)
3) Paul Gallen - Assault (Whilst tying to protect his brother, Not charged though)

Don't know quite what to say here as you say none of us know 100% what happened yet you are willing to accept media reports that Bird lied, glassed his GF, killed JFK and whatever else the media builds up becuase the media has never printed stuff that is untrue have they?

BTW lying to your employer is not illegal or criminal. It may be morally wrong but it is not illegal. All of us have lied to our boss at some stage.

If you don't wat to sing then that's OK. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion

However -

You are kidding me even putting this in here.

Nothing came of this. Who wouldnt stick up for thier brother.

PS Not many of us have lied to our employer about an alleged criminal activity. If I did no wrong I'd trust my employer to support me.

Gotta love the effort of getting this thing started, but honestly dude, the way it is put together, ie, content, grammer and spelling, i will deadset give you $1 million dollars if you think it will be printed in any paper.

I am all for Birdy playing again, and have been a sharks fan for over 30 years, but even I thought twice about signing this petition due to the 12 year old style it was written in.

I would love to keep Greg Bird at the Sharks as well, but I agree with others on here and say that there is no way this will get any publicity with the way it is written. The Shark's board will just laugh and throw it out.

I'm going to sound like an old fuddy duddy but I have a real issue with people that can't string a proper sentence together. I know that sounds harsh and I'll apologise now for anyone I offend.

Mate, I will also agree that you have shown a lot of passion and energy to get this petition going and the intention is great but did you think of getting anyone to proof read it for you?

If you can do that and take out the double standards line, I'll probably sign it too. Birdy's a great player and I don't want to see him play against us but at the end of the day he lied to his coach, officials, club and fans. The matter is serious enough for that to be a problem.
