I heard on mmm johns asked if he is enjoying coaching and he said No... how would the players lift if he doesnt really want to be there? Surely the club to step in and do something try and salvage the year if the guy doesnt want the top job? then again you wonder how the players would react to a new Interim coach.......

They should promote Herman and give him a licence to drop/promote as he sees fit.

I actually think the only way these guys are going to take 2014 seriously is if they find themselves in nsw cup. No one should be spared if they give a below par performance in FG.

the way some of them played the last couple of round their wouldn't be a 1st grade.

Sharp needs to fall on his sword, he has no credibility after his post-game conferences

This is the problem but. What does the club do? Sack him? Head Coach was not his job, and it was the clubs decision to run with him and keep Flanno on ice. Not Sharpes. Shape was content being an assistant, and he is probably a pretty good one.

He isnt a head coach, he wasnt an applicant for the head coaching role, for all we know the club said, 'right sharpie youre up' and thats it.

If we can get someone in for the remainder of the season to take the head role and sharpie goes back to his usual post i could handle that, but i dont think Sharpie deserves to lose employment over this shamozzle.

exactly. its seriously like 4 months. the decision was wrong from the get go.

Should have forfeited Flannos pay for a year, and brought in a bloke for a season

What kind of authority would another interim coach have anyway though?

At least Sharp has a position with the club going forward and will hold some sway with selection in the future. At least if a player has a poor attitude in this period then it will be remembered by someone.

If we were to bring in a guy just for the season, then he may be seen as more of a relief teacher than Sharp.

I dont think there was any way that this was going to turn out well, particularly with the injuries we've had. It might have been a different story with a full squad. But with the team that we were fielding, just about any coach would have struggled.

Did we just try and follow Essendon's lead here? They appointed Thompson (assistant coach) in Hird's absence for 2014. The difference is Thompson was a great coach in his own right winning multple flags at Geelong. He only gave up being a head coach because he wanted to step back from the pressure that's associated with it.

Judging by the the post press conference, Sharpy really looks like he is over the coaching gig..... its a pity we didnt try someone who actually wanted to coach.
