He definitely tries to over-play his hand when we're behind and he takes responsibility, however apart from that he's fine. He put an amazing backline play in Origin 1 that sent Jennings away.

Although, for the benefit for the team and the performances going forward, he should be moved to prop. He can stick to what his best skills are, which is what also is the best for the team. This can allow us to shift Graham back to lock ad bring in Townsend.

Before people start rambling on about Graham being a lock, I'd know who I would want in that position in the set plays, playing that roll out of Graham and Gallen.

Wow, well that started off as a decent conversation about Gallens and turned into a massive beat up of one of the greatest players in the world.. You cannot fault the man, he wears his heart on his sleeve and puts in 150% every time he runs on a footy field, whether it be for the Sharks, Blues, Roos or All Stars.. IMO, He is the best thing to happen to that Sharks for a long time, generally its him that keeps us in the game, but on the flipside, sometimes he needs to step back and play his role not everyelses when we are behind and let people play their own positions...

Ive said it from the start of the year, Gallen needs to step into either second row with Smith or front row, personally i would like to see Ross, De Gois and Gibbs up front, Smith and Gallen in the back row and Graham in Lock.. Carney 5-8th and either Chad or Robson in halfback.

Take the pressure off Gallen having to roam the field as lock and have him hitting up the middle and making some decent metres like in Origin.. Graham isnt a play maker but he has great impact when roaming wide and can cause gap's to appear...

The sooner we take the pressure off him, the sooner he will prove his efforts on the field, and the stats will show!!

Lets stop beating up on our players... True supports back their players..... Rant Over!

Dont get me wrong Snow, im the first person to bag out people who dont perform week in week out and should be dropped.. I was more referring to people like Gallen who simply tries to hard to put the entire team on his shoulders and do everything yet gets the **** bagged out of him for trying to hard.......

Ive been a Sharks fan my whole life.. More annoying team than any other in the comp.. promises of premierships and great seasons at the start of every year... but nothing in the cabinet to show for it!

You just had your opinion in this open forum.. surely other can to:good:

despite if his name is paul gallen or jed bogan, he deserves to be bagged for being a hog and interfering in every attacking raid

i read your opinion, acknowledged it, and disagreed with it, its now and open discussion :)

On a side note, how good would it be to bag out a player named Jed Bogan!! It would be way to easy! Maybe they would look like these to muppets

:topic

People like Pom (9/10 games), Wright (7/10 games) deserve to be bagged on a regular basis, i used to be a massive fan of Pomeroy when he first started.. in the last 2 years, i couldnt give a **** about him and wont till he starts performing and getting the errors out of his game..

Gallen makes a lot of errors but id say there would be a stat out there based on the ammount of ball he touches he does more right than wrong.. hence why he shouldnt be bagged.. but as you said, we all have our own opinion... frankly i couldnt give a **** what you say if it doesnt match what i say.. must be the fact that im married and know im always right.. but im sure my wife would disagree, maybe that explains my drinking problem :drunk

I THINK.... me and martin had a tray of VB on the weekend!
Perfect weather for it. But I stayed clear. Was dry as a nuns you know what though. Was hard to resist it. Like being a coke addict and someone puts a bowl of coke in front of you and says you can't have any

I watched something (MNF perhaps?) where someone asked Ricky Stuart about when you know you're a good half. He said something along the lines of it being when your team mates (especially senior forwards) trust you, listen to you and generally want to be lead by you. Say what you like about Ricky as a coach, but he was a damn good half.

Maybe Gall hasn't got that confidence in his ball players yet. History wouldn't blame him for this.

While I agree he can get too involved, I've never questioned his motives. Everything he does he does because he believes its best for his team.

Now we've got a top class play maker, I think Gall's roll could and should be more simplified. Carney is our x-factor and needs the ball at crucial stages. Gallen should be running his lines every play, if Carney feels the big run is needed he'll find Gallen, if he feels any other way then Gallen still provides that decoy.

He's a champion and I'd trade him for NO ONE. But he needs more of a defined roll in our side now he's not the only decent player. Hopefully this will develop the more this side plays together.

Can we please the title of this blog to 'Paul Gallen- helper or hindrance'?

I am not usually one to correct spelling or grammar but this one is driving me nuts every time I log on.
