Tonight I would say help just doing what he does them best bashing the crap out of the opposition.

A so called Cronulla fan sitting near me last night went berserk when Gal dropped the ball cold with two minutes to go. Yep, it was a bad mistake, but this "fan" yelled out, and I quote "Gallen you ****ing useless , we should have got rid of you years ago, you are ****ing useless."

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but if you're going to yell out at the footy it pays to know a bit about the game. Great game from Gal.

If someone yelled that out at a game unless they looked like a heavyweight boxer why the hell weren't they bashed?

Was in the members up the back in the Peter Burns stand, mostly old people where he was sitting. Just not on and obviosuly knows nothing about the game.

Disappointed

I'm a little disappointed to say the least at the crticism levelled at Gallen, yes he does get too involved and things do become a little predictable However:

Over the last five years the players around him have been questionable at best. Lets talk about the quality of players that Gal has had to assist him in that time, Toupo has been on a three year holiday, he is looking good this year however. Douglas was a champion but of modest talent and creativity. Snowden is an oxygen thief and he is proving that this year at his new home. Cuthbetson??? Corey Hughes??? and the list goes on. The halves have been a shambles since Healey left, so who is the only player in that time that has taken it upon himself to try and win games for us? Paul Gallen Thats who.

Now for the first time since the nineties we have a team capable of competing, not winning just competing week in week out and everyone is saying he should keep his nose out of the game. Unbelievable. Paul gallen has built his style of play over the last 5 years because we needed him to. It may take a little more than three games for him to relax a bit and begin to trust the players around him. I also believe that if it wasnt for Gal, we would be the Perth Sharks by now.

I'd like to know what Bellamy bennett and cartwright would offer Gal if he was to leave us. And please dont overlook the fact that alot of our new good players like Smith, Topou, Fifita, and Gibbs signed with us because Gal was still there.

Why is it that other clubs worship their champions and we dont?

Of coarse we worship Gal, he is a legend and hopefully will become an immortal in years to come for all his hard work on and off the field.

It's just a discussion about what fellow fans think about certain aspects of his game.

At the end of the day Gal is the man who will take us far and is well respected amongst fans, players and everyone else.

Thirded. Sure it might be nice for Gal to butt out of the playmaking sometimes but the thread title itself is a disgrace.
