i saw people online complaining about his kicking in the all stars game, unless you were there, you have no idea what the elements were doing with kicks
Commentators were all "Trindall slotted it and Nicho didn't..." Like those two kicks were the deciding factor... Knuckle heads

Cleary and Cherry Evans are a solid size for leading halfs as well, doesn't hurt at all.

If he ran with the ball tucked under his chin would it be a knock on if he lost the ball forward?

Thing of absolute beauty

Daniel teaching him the art of the 45m field goal

I thought he kicked them well, but they faded / wind was an issue ect.

Nicho kicking goals from the sideline easily / McInnes and Finucane killing it at training

but is the house down yet?

Nicho looked a bit uncertain at times, but i'm sure he's too good not to work that out in quick order.

Over played on occasion (but rarely) cos he was trying so bloody hard.
Nice first hit out. Very excited about having him in the halves.
I think there will be a decent highlights package of him at seasons end!

His defense is going to be a big help to us, really gets stuck into his tackles in the middle and doesn't bludge or leave it for a forward. Asset

Got his kicks away under pressure. Lovely pass for Nikora try

Geez he looked sharp and slick yesterday, there’s a lot for him to build on there, his combination with Kennedy looks like it could turn lethal.

I still think he’d look a heap better with a good supporting half next to him with a good controlling long kick game, kinda like a solid game manager. He wont get that out of Moylan, I’m still firmly hoping he gets that out of Trindall, but the jury is still out.

Just praying to Jebus his combination with Moylan somehow works.

His combo with Nikora, as soon as opposition teams start to work that out and shut down the play Hynes can dummy or start cutting out the ball out back to a Ramien with some space. We are looking slick and good and that opens up more options

Letting Mozza and Hynes play their own games might not be the worst thing but Hynes still gunna have to shoulder most of the kicking duties I would think. Hynes as an organising half that can put on alot of his own plays can still work though

Big part of the reason 2020 SJ had so many TAs playing mostly on our right.
If you don't account for Nikora running a known line he can beat you, to account for it you can't slide as hard which opens up options for half (run, cut out to centre, rainbow to winger, kick for winger, out the back to fullback to link with centre/winger). All those options get better if the line stalls for a moment to see if option 1 (Nikora) gets ball or not. Still need decent decision making and execution to turn those options into points, but it's easier.

Now if Nikora just always runs this line and keeps up an improved defence he will be fine but next level for him would be to add some variations in to make himself a more versatile threat.

There were 2020 games it looked a bit limiting for Ramien though as he often got crash balls by the time SJ made a decision and had some handling issues in that area, which is not totally on him as it is a hard time to take a pass.

Nikora doesn't just run the same line every time. Knowing the right line to run at the right time is what keeps him in the team.

He's been good at this with every half he has played with (not just SJ).

Yes well okay, usually he runs similar lines though.
He very rarely passes, makes significant unforced angle changes, uses a palm off, looks to make contact and offload, rarely strings passes along the backline, rarely kicks. Often just steams onto a short or medium length pass.

A good first year is what has kept him in the team, and well timed injuries to other players, or rare good games by himself.

He has been good at his runs with every half not just SJ but SJ was a good example for me above as he had a great season with TAs (not the only thing that goes into creating tries I know) on that edge and Nikora as a line/hole runner contributed to that.

If you want to pick at my generalised statements I at least want detailed graphs and reports on every line he has ever run and with which halves.
You're getting lazy Burg!
