if ricky is lookin at this kid stapleton as a fullback, perhaps he is not sure whether brown is the right man to be back in the no.1 shirt.

If they are eligible for NYC, that is where they will play, if they are too old they will play with the Cobras.

No jimmymac, Kearney is the fullback spot at the moment, with Brown on the wing, I think personally Covell and Simmons are going to fight things out. Not that Covell didn't play well this year, but he is not getting any faster.

I agree that Kearney is one of out most valuable assets, but I would have thought that Brown would get first shot at the number one jersey after his efforts in the fullback position last season, his confidence looked to be growing with every game. I am still not convinced that Kearney's best position is fullback and I see him as a real option at 6, 7 or 9, and he would give excellent utility value and real impact off the bench. Like others on here I am really liking the look of our depth for the coming season, right across the park. Ricky will have a few interesting selection decisions ahead of him, that is for sure.

Covell will be there no doubt when fit

his nouse and goalkicking easily makes up for his lack of speed, and also i know ricky holds him in high regard

Well I have been told on good authority Ricky is thinking Kearney at 1 and Mitch back to the wing. I am like you Mega, I really think Mitch should be fullback, he got better and better each game there, and at least brought the ball back with Vigour.

Kearney however, is best suited to our club when he can float around and pop up anywhere like Kurt Gidley, I agree he is not the best under the highball, but beig able to chime in anywhere in the attacking makes him more appealing. To me when he is in a structured postion like hooker, 5/8 or half, he seems to be less effective, I am not sure if that is structure or pressure, but he just is not as effective, THEN AGAIN, he has not had a fair crack for a period at any of those possy's unlike his time at fullback.

Funnily enough, I do feel for some players, because we do have depth for once, so some players are going to feel it, I just hope that doesn't mean we miss out on re-signing them when contracts expire.

Exactly right. I really hope he has an injury-free season in 2008 so we can see him fulfill the promise he showed early on this year, and give us that extra attacking spark needed to take us into the playoffs.

Agreed, but I still think fullback best suits him, although he may not be the best at defense there, but attack yes.
