Would be nice to for him to kick at some point
have you forgotten some of his kicking efforts last week in round 1? I agree it would be nice but he is very rough around the edges off the ol boot especially when he is trying something close range / attacking.
But yea I wish he would have done more long range torpedo bomb kicks tonight, he is good at those but guess coach figures he got enough on his plate and gotta sort out some other stuff first but we can't have Nicho as lone clearing kicker long term IMO
Imagine how Nicho is feeling having to carry this pansy
they were carrying each other tonight
Does something good every 20mins
Sold!
Mozza wasn't really a mong tonight (cept that miss kick air swing early game), he had some nice touches /runs and I thought his defense looked better (although stats suggest otherwise). He was better than Hynes most of the first half. tonight was a classic 2021 performance from Moylan
I don't think Matt is a player we can expect a complete game performance out of, if it happens (rare) great. But like Hynes his good ended up outweighing the bad, maybe we just have to take that
The jersey is Moylan’s to lose! Him and Hynes combo already is looking slick. They can set a play up out of nothing.
and destroy a play out of nothing
Didn’t think he was that great…a couple of quality passes. However, missed loads of tackles, terrible kick (yes only one kick!) not to mention another terrible 5th play option (which I do not even know what he was trying to do)
This was a good game in comparison to most of Moylans games…..however still think trindle adds more, from defence to the strongest general play kicker in and strongest goal kicker
Trindalls defense is a bit sketchy , he can make a good strong tackle but he can misread and miss them / get caught off guard, wrong position as much as any half
This idiotic Trindall offers more brigade are going to grind some gears this week after we deadset dominated one of the premiership heavyweights with ball in hand
lol premiership heavy weights. parra are a good solid team but making the top 4 and getting bundled out in the finals is prob the best they are gunna do again. just don't have that extra level / quality or killer instinct needed to take it all the way.
mind you we will have done very well making top 4 but very encouraging signs tonight
Same as last week. Good moments and bad moments, ran the ball, got involved with the game on the line.
meant to quote a different post of yours put agree on short kicking, would be very handy to get some more repeat sets, especially with our new found steel and commitment in defense we could really punish teams and keep the hurt going. even some short range attacking kicks grubbers ect behind the line
Hynes seems to be making an effort in this regard though and doing reasonably well but we need options across the park
Grind what gears ? He had a terrible 79 minutes lol. Did he even kick more then once ?
You have low standards to be happy with that performance. We lose by a mile without Hynes
Hynes was far from perfect but I also think we don't win without him, he lifted his game in that second half. BUT as much as I bag Mozza as much as any poster (probs more) and as much as I am open to Trindall being the 7, Mozza made a contribution tonight with the ball and there is more to a game than just kicking
Not likely to be dropped based on Fitz’s pressa.
We can probably cover his lack of long kicks when Wade plays, as Wade can take some of the pressure off of Nicho, but the problem now days is that Wade hasn’t been playing.
Maybe we can get more long kicks from Brailey if we stick with this halves combo (and I don’t see it changing at the moment based on the pressa).
Wade doesn't do much long kicking, typically only if we are desperate and we get disjointed in our set and it ends up with him as a last resort. I don't think he kicks it as far as our other halve options either. Wade typically just used to do those short side grubbers down the left side.
Agree on Brailey , will be good to get him kicking again at some point but we have already seen so much improvement in his game in 2 weeks maybe Fitz wants him to nail those parts of his game first and focus on short/long kicker late on
Fortunately I do remember past the last game I have seen Moylan play…so “calling him out” is based on the last few years.
Moylans running game is definitely less dangerous then Nichos, Moylan defense is average……however apart from that he has zero input at the end of every set. Which obviously Nicho who is new to the half’s in the NRL is being solely left to control as Moylan with all of his experience and prior rep football has no kicking game…
I agree that Moylan could step up and take some more responsibility in helping out Hynes but to say he has zero input end of sets is wrong. his pass to Tieg was the game winner tonight and I think he has layed on another 1 or 2 final pass try assists in the first 2 weeks
I think both players are still working alot out which is a bit annoying after having a big pre-season but actual FG games is ofcourse a whole another level. they might have looked good at training but game pressure ect, fatigue they might be putting a few things in the bag and trying to keep it relative simple and stick to the plays they are comfortable with.
I am confident they will evolve from here, individually and as a combo
