This guy is useless - what a handbrake

He’s going to run Hynes into the ground.

Whoever was calling for him to start over Trindall hang your head in shame

I think if Fitz does put Trindall at 7, Hynes will look better at 6 or second receiver.

But I reckon he’d then put Moylan at 14.

Don’t think he’d want to leave him out of the 17.
Why the fk would anyone put Moylan at 14 ?

He is useless, leave him out ship him off get him out of the team he’s sht

I answered your question in the sentence that followed me saying Moylan in 14.

I didn’t say I would put Moylan in the 14 jersey, I’m just saying if he’s not in the 6 then I couldn’t see Fitz leaving him out of the 17.

There’s more I could say but there’s no point in arguing with you.

Moylan certainly wasn't the reason we lost last night .
Disagree

Fair enough. I just think MM is too “high profile” for Fitz to drop him after one game.

I’d rather Hynes 6, Trindall 7 actually more so because I think Nicho is better at 6 than 7.

Defensively what was he like?

far down on his usual standard IMO - if you don't believe me check the stats and watch the replay. He made some good efforts / tackles when we under the pump yes but he missed plenty too

It's like he was underdone which coming into our first game after a big pre-season is almost unforgivable - 1 week off with a corked thigh or whatever or being a 'rocks and diamonds' player isn't a good enough reason for his poor performance
Moylan certainly wasn't the reason we lost last night .

oh ffs mate yes sure he wasn't the only problem or reason we lost by far but it doesn't excuse him. why did we retain him if not to perform for us, he is meant to be this amazing player. would we have recruited him if he wasn't already on our books? I just don't know. he was good for us when he actually played last season but last night I was dissapointed with him.

hope he comes good and soon and last night was blowing some cobwebs out for him

What type of kicking? Grubbers? Punts? Bombs?

bombs, stabbing kicks over the top. very mixed bag but was good to see him doing it, hopefully is accuracy improves

If he had of stepped up when nicho was tackled on 4th the 3 or 4 times (apart from. The time he just passed it to Wilton on 5th, who was tackled straight away). It could of definitely made a difference.

Not to mention him bombing out on the full, with a kick that wasn’t putting anyone under pressure anyway. He did this kick last year as well but it went backwards!!

Assuming he “certainly wasn’t the reason we lost” is nothing but a guess

Disappointed in him but going to give him the benefit of the doubt and see how he goes in the next couple of games. Fitzy might do the same.

Still annoyed we kept this mong
We all know he’s past his use by date ? Well at least some of us do because there was a whole lot of people calling for him to start. As usual they’ve gone crickets

It’s not like he’s up and coming, it’s not like he’s magic with the ball in hand it’s not like his kicking game is a must have, the guy even struggles to run fast - I just don’t get it.

Did we even get a repeat set ? He’s going to run Hynes into the ground

To be fair, we're doing much better in the cricket, so it's understandable.

Should Hynes have been in control of that game? Because he wasn't, and Moylan stepped in. Problem is Moylan isn't up to it. And it's not meant to be his job, because everyone knows it.

Would Trindall have stepped up? Not from what we've seen. Doesn't leave us a lot of options.

We'll have to accept it'll take Nicho a while to takes control of this team effectively as the 7. It'll be super clunky til then.

I completely disagree with you because Trindall has shown he can ball play and kick very well especially to get repeat sets and is a natural half with a little running game I don’t know what games you’ve watched him play or your eyes were glued on.

He might not be a superstar yet and neither is Hynes in the halves but together they work well and would be able to carry the weight evenly

It looked to me like a plan to hand the ball over right in the corner instead of risking a 7 tackle set .

Happened too often to be a coincidence ..

The two things your mentioned weren't the one thing I'd pointed out as an issue - his ability to control the team. Or even his side of the field. He hasn't developed that part of his game. That's what we needed, and in round 1 Nicho, Moylan and Trindall weren't options to do that.

Trindall has a good long kick but not for repeat sets. Happy for you to show me the stat that proves me wrong

He is, or at least was, pretty good at setting up his outside man.

Or it might be that Moylan isn’t confident in his kicking game..
