Yep they do, but only when they have a replacement in play and most definitely NOT when said coach has only just been given a 3 year contract.
He is the lowest paid coach in the NRL though.

Think outside the square and dare to fantasise for a sec. A million dollar a year sponsorship! Even 1.5. ASADA is over when we cut the cord. This is not cutting the cord hence my criticism of Gorman.

How do you know this mate? I think it's an assumption isn't it?

no he isn't

Also if you want to cut flanno to start fresh, then you also cut the players who were involved

Okay. I'm going to come across as some sad lefty greenie type blah blah blah.

Shane Flanagan presents as a thug. My partner of ten years was as staunch a parra fan as you will ever get. I can't see her ever attending a game again. The problem is with the game's image and for us Flanagan.

Enough is enough. I've appealed for help and support in making my case and it has fallen on deaf ears. I'm asking people to look at our coach and the way he presents to the media. Just look. If you wanted to sell a product, is this how you would go about it?

NRL clubs sack coaches like it it going out of fashion.
I see your point but it's not really the coach's job to sell the club, his job is to get the players to win games. There's not too many coaches out there that come across as friendly, happy go lucky chaps that enjoy talking to the media. You seem to need that degree of arrogance to be a first grade coach.

I wanted him sacked a long time ago but now we'd start another season on the back foot if we got rid of him now. Just want to concentrate on footy and not dwell on 2011.

I'm not unhappy at all with the way recruitment is going. However, I'm not giving Flanagan credit for that. To me that is entirely down to the salary cap.

I'm talking about putting 2011 to bed now and not letting it drag on for the next three years.

It is food for thought.

like I said, to put it to bed like you say you would have to rid everyone that was involved out of the organisation. That includes players, coaching staff and administrators

Wonder what expectations the board have for next season, will flanno be fired if he doesn't get the club to the top 8 ? The top 4 ?

Yeah I get that sentiment, but how would you fix this in the real world?
You are right in that I don't think he is easily sacked. ie. he could turn very nasty. He needs to be settled with legally, financially and carefully.

It is going to cost money but it has to cheaper than waiting out his three year contract.. Gorman is a name but he needs something to sell. Will be still be here at the end of his contract if Flanno is?

Hands down, this is my favourite thread. Unfortunately it seems this forum has taken a turn for the worse, ironically after such "effort" was taken to do the complete opposite. Good times

Way too much pessimism on these forums at the moment. This thread that should be a happy and encouraging moment, an actual well respected Group CEO has signed with us and up for the challenge. How good is that!

...yet the past few pages are people complaining about random things, incessantly whining about Flanno being the coach, taking slippery slopes after privatisation was brought up for a brief second. Makes it hard to read these forums.

You have a product to sell. How do you feel Flanno presents to the media?

I don't think that's his job. Are we now going to hire players, coaches and trainers based solely on their media savvy and marketability?

I'd rather a team that wins than a coach who presents himself well when we lose every week.

I hate flanno as much as the next guy but everyone of these signings bar mitch brown came to be coached by him. The man must be phenomenal.

also if you think ditching flanno would be the end of our problems you've got rocks in ya head

Poor governance. Wondr how the mods feel for allowing their forum members be exposed to all this garbage
