There’s talk he’s going to be training at centre this off season as well as fullback.
Was mentioned as a centre (plus FB and 5/8) in something the other day - might have been the extension announcement by club

Makes sense. His pathway in is likely as a 14 first up, so being able to cover more positions would be great.

I think a lot of people on here like the Burton/RTS/Daley/Fittler/Gutho pathway for him. Find him a spot in the 13 to get conformable in the NRL, and then look at giving him a more key role after he has played 40+ games.

Yeah completely fair too. Will be very interesting to see how it plays out

Sounds like it would make sense considering his defensive report card hasn't been great.

Kade last played at 20. Most 20 year olds aren't great defenders. He played Cup (and NRL) mostly at FB where talk and directing others could be argued as more important than your own ability to tackle.
He'll be 22 for next season, he's added some size since he last played which would help with defence.

Most young players clubs are weighing up their attacking prowess and cheap contracts vs defensive deficiencies (with a hope the deficiencies are fixed with time).

If we feed him into NRL as a centre to start with it's hard to say how much defensive pressure that takes off him. Centre can be considered one of the hardest spots to defend because while the half is the target of a lot of plays the outcome of that is often to create numbers outside the half, leaving the centre as the man to diffuse the 3 on 2. Although there is the benefit of that putting him up against halves, centres and fullbacks more often than second rowers, so may be less physically challenging while he adapts.
Things don't get much easier moving in a spot to half unless you have a good defender as your second rower.

There's not a lot of great defence on display in reggies from what I see in the highlight reels, that's for sure!
It sounded as though he had some identified issues from what I've read, but that's just an impression

Hopefully better at patching them up than Iro who, at 23, was the NSW Cup best player and still can hardly get a look in at NRL level.

Yeah - no more than expected for his age/experience though.

Personally I'd say moreso that he struggled in the halves rather than at fullback.

Safe to say Kade has improvement in him, and has shown in the past that he can grow his game (in 2021 he hardly had a passing game but in 2022 it was a strength of his).

What about Filiga? Or was he before Mills?
Had hopes for Filiga because everyone was saying he's the next SBW.

I saw class in Mills though. Still wish that he'd not been thrown in at fullback on that fateful windy day.

You never know.
