I dont think he is a major loss. Not the sort of player we could rely on to take Dougy's spot. Im not to sure who at the club will take dougy's spot as all our props are best on the bench at best.

I really think we need an answer from Snowy asap because the longer he puts us off, the more players we miss out on. It's quite simple yet we have just sat down and waited for the outcome. Silly management skills if you ask me

With Dougies money gone, $350k there is no reason why we can't chase another prop regardless of Snowdens decision. Thats just a cop out to say that

Yes but dougy only signed with titans how long ago?

Snowden saga has been going on for how long now?

I'd seriously make a play for the 2 tigers props both about 21 & getting good experience. Fafita & Woods we can buy both with Snowys money & offer Ross $80k, then there's money for backs.

And he is yet to sign with anyone as yet, should we have just cut ties with him a month ago and not even give ourselves a chance to retain him?

If it meant getting someone like Graham then yes.

If Snowden goes, in hindsight we should have told him to piss off back when he dogged us.

Mate I'm a big snowden fan but reality is we are now offering him more than the knights and he is still thinking twice. What does that tell you?

If he wanted to stay the contract would have been in the filing cabinet some time ago. He won't be a shark next year in my opinion and if he proves me wrong well ill cop it

Other clubs seem to be a lot more active then us for next year and they are in much better positions on the table then us! We are moving like snails

Of course. Hindsight works like that.

But that's only IF he stays, and how likely do you think that is?

Not very mate, but i don't like the hate that is shown to players if they decide to leave. I have been guilty of that, but it's mid year. These guys still put in an effort for us, and the sharks.

I am just hanging on to that rope, it is breaking and i can see the last thread about to snap...But i am still clinging on for dear life!

Regardless of whether Snowden stays or not, it seems we will be in the market for at least one good quality prop. So, I would hope that we are at least speaking to someone by now. I'm so unbelievably disappointed that Douglas is going.

To be honest I'm a bit disenchanted by the whole signing situation.

I was so worried about Snowden, and that's still going on, and in the meantime Douglas of all people is leaving. Know what I mean? It just happened without any warning. So that could happen to every player without any prior warning. Do we even know if Gallen really has a rock solid contract? It's getting to the point where I can't follow this crap any more. It does my head in too much.

I'm starting to get really pissed off with how much attention is placed on the soap opera of Rugby League compared to the core of it. I'm very guilty of this too. I let myself get caught in it all and I'm furious at myself for doing it.

I really think something needs to be done with signings. I mean we're still in May but people are acting like the season is a write-off and that we need to start focusing all our attention as fans into what is happening next season. Sorry but I've done that too many times now!

I'm gunna just sort of give up, and once we know what we have for next year I guess I'll get behind those guys, whoever they may be, because I'm a Sharks fan, but I can't see myself being an active member of this 'cycle' forever. My interest is waning. I want to watch a sport not a soap opera. I want to live in the now not in the future.

Know what I mean? Rant and a half but oh well.

I don't know how reliable this source is but the Mannah to the Dogs thing could be a direct swap for Ben Roberts.

Apparently another rumour is Joel Reddy and Bryson Goodwin could be coming our way.

I was told a while back, as is evident from a very early post of mine, that we are very slow off the mark. Player agents are taking names to the club and I'll use the words of my agent mate, "it's like pulling teeth, they just wont make a decision". I think under Flano, well what I have been told anyway, things are better. I think we all realise, we are not going to attract the names, unless you class Joel Ready a name. So let's just hope they tie up the junior kids coming through, long term and rebuild a local team. Dead set if we start losing these 20's kids, the whole administration will again need an overhaul.

Mark, I couldn't agree more. You've expressed just how I feel about it all too. It seems like not only is the game no longer about local teams playing for their communities, its not even about footy teams playing RL!

Its why I desperately wanted us to retain our best on long term deals this year- Snowden, Douglas, Gardner and Kelly in particular. Those guys, together with our youngsters in the NYC, and plus perhaps one or two signings to address areas where we don't have juniors coming through and we would have had an actually decent football team to support for the next few years. One that's pretty similar from year to year, that we can all know and love. Not a bus interchange like we have been for the last ten years or so.

A competitive, entertaining team and a competitive, healthy Club. That's what I'm after.
