Hi All, this is my first post on the site as I have been looking at all your threads for the past few months and couldn't help but register... I have to agree with you all on the James Stosic story - what a twit!!! If he thinks he's that great, maybe he will walk out on the Titans if they don't play him at 5/8 as that may be his preferred position!!! I have been a mad Sharks supporters since I could stand up and for any bloke to walk out on such a great club and then shoot his mouth off - bring it on!!! He better watch his back come round 2 this year!!!

I live up in Brisbane and chasing hard for tickets to the Round 2 game on the Gold Coast... It will be a cracker and a great Sharks victory!! If I get to the game I might take a bib with me and some how get it down to Stosic - he can use it while we all watch him eat his words!!!

You are all giving Stosic a hard time but there is some truth in what he says. Although i can't work out what his problem was with our playing style mainly because he was 1 dimensional & would only take a 1 out hit up. However, when you look at it we didn't spread the ball much and we had Thomo, Bird, Gallen & Douglas always carting it up the middle off a kev kingston pass from dummy half. We were predictable & slow especially during the 10 game losing streak. It probably led to the disfunctional Dykes/Noddy partnership and our rudderless attack. i got the feeling Stu Raper wasn't the greatest tactician, organiser or thinker but rather focused on the physical aspects of the game especially in defence. But in attack it seemed like he left noddy and Dykes to attack without any structure or plan. Hopefully with Ricky we can rectify these problems.

Mate as much as I agree Stosic is a toss, I totally agree HrvatskaDomovino , our play was boring and not much to it, that I can vouch for personally as I had spoken to a coach coaching there last year and again this year.

It comes down really to Stosic realising that about our play and also at that time realising Raper was going to around still at that stage when he signed with the Titans. But in hindsight I bet he is filthy Ricky is with us now.

Good luck to him and I bet he is rather envious of us now. Hence the bad mouthing.

Yeah I would have to agree with that also... we were pretty predictable in attack last season and with the Noddy/Dykes combination not firing, there was no firepower to our play... I wish Stosic all the best with the Titans but I do think his reaction and comments is possibly a reaction to Ricky's employment as coach.. I think all players would love to retire saying that they had the priviledge to play under a national coach..

i think you guys have got it right, my teacher told me that stosic wanted to be a line breaking player, and he wasn't getting that here so he left. but the main reason for going to the titans and not any other club is that he really wanted to play in the nrl, and if he played at a club that was just starting out, he would be in the run-on side.
