Tonight on NRL Daily, hosts John Gibbs and Joel Caine take a look into the magic eight ball to analyse how the Sharks team will look in 2013, with the speculation that they are about to sign Wests Tigers duo Beau Ryan and Chris Heighington.


“I think the Sharks will be competition favourites next year,” says Caine. “Their roster is too strong to question, with plenty of class, and no one can doubt the positive energy coming from the club.”



While Gibbs doesn’t quite agree they will be installed as favourites he does think the addition of Ryan is a smart move for the club.


“I can see the value in Beau Ryan,” Gibb said. “They need outside backs but one thing they have in abundance is back-rowers, which makes me think someone else might be leaving.”

We've got a better squad next year then this year so you would think we would do better than 2012. Anything less than what was done this year is a failure.

i wont make a prediction until i am aware of the following:

*Todd Carneys rehab process and when he will be back on the field.

*Jeremy Smiths depature

*More signings

*Coaching staff replacements.

It's realative though, you also need to take into consideration which other teams will improve and by how much. I haven't had a good look at other teams yet. Plenty of time to do that over the next few months.

Yes, this is a good point. But for example, the Tigers don't look as strong, same with the Dragons. I do agree with what you are saying though.

i cant be sure of where we'll go in 2013 until i see the round 1 team nex year, the fact that we have so many options at multiple positions is confusing, we have no idea who will be in the side next year

Carneys injury and rehab is a big thing for mine we cant rush an achilles injury it would be insanity

and i hope robson isnt halfback either, reckon hes holding us back

and even with all these more potent attacking players we will still need some time to see if the game plan has cvhanged or if we stick to the same old game plan

only time will tell i guess.

Obviously squad is a lot stronger so anything other than a top 4 finish would be a massive failure IMO.
However!! There is one massive question mark that could determne our early season. That is the fitness of one T.Carney and whether he will be right come round 1.
If he is there round 1 he will be underdone with very little pre-season running so he could take a fair while to get going.

Smith is a big loss but as long as Gallen just plays a permantent tight role to let Lewis and Graham do their thing we are stronger again.

But alot of this will depend on how we come out after the origin series,
We also need to be scoring a few more points each game to give us more confidence + give my heart palpitations a rest.

We should aim for a top 8 again and hopefully come in with a better second half of the season.

It's something that I'm looking forward to, with the new players we have signed,
Hopefully we see them throwing the ball around alot more.
