sterlo mentioned making games worth 3 points in all games, and then 2 for a winner in gp and 1 for a loser

Thats the only way i see it working.

The argument that the losing extra time side earned a point can be countered with the winning extra time team doesnt deserve the same as a team that were outright winners after 80

It definitely is not fair under the current system.

I recall a game where we rolled the Dragons at ANZ. They kicked off in GP, we rolled upfield, Ryles gave away a penalty we banged it over, game over. They never touched the ball under the golden point rules; so aside from the massive LOLZ that situation provided; it is not fair.

In touch footy and oztag if this eventuality happens the scoring team has to kick off and defend one set. Even park oztag has a better and fairer system than the NRL. Let that wash over you.

That scenario could play out 1 minute before full-time in general play. What's the difference?

1 point for losing, **** that

As someone else might have said .
You'd have to give 3 points to teams that won outright without extra time , if you were going to spit points in extra time .

so what happens if it is a draw at the end of golden point? how do you split the 3 points fairly? away team gets 2?

Umm the difference is both teams had a fair chance to win the game. Massive and obvious difference.

And teams playing for 3 points. FMD can we just leave the game alone for 5 minutes.

I don't like 3 points for win, 2 for a golden win, 1 for a golden loss.

Isn't the whole point of Golden Point that you're playing for the win - all or nothing.

One team celebates, the other shattered.

If both teams are already getting a point - then it sounds pretty wanky playing for just one more point.

Would it even be exciting knowing that a "win' gets you a only point rather then all the points.

Leave it as it is.

Would only work if you're playing for 4 points. 4 for the win, 2 each for outright draw, 3 & 1 for golden point, 0 for a loss in reg time.

If you are gunna do it like that...
4 points for an outright win
3 points for a golden point win
1 point for a golden point loss.
0 points for a regular loss.

The problem with giving points for golden point, there could be a situation where a team makes the top 8 over a team with more or equal wins with a better F/A

A drawn game with a duration as relatively short as rugby league would bring immense discontentment to the crowd in attendance in my most humble of opinions.

As life, it's often unfair; yet one cannot deny the exhilaration for one side on the day.
