It's not serious. Mario is actually a top bloke who does a lot of work behind the scenes with the NRL. It's all staged, him and Fatty are great mates.

Wow the new footy shot is as cringe worthy as ever - the hosts look and sound completely clueless. However by chance in my 5 min accidental viewing I got to see the "Beua knows segment". Moderately entertaining the real highlight was Beua although dressed up in a big bunny suit at the end of the segment he gives the thumbs up and says "Go the Mighty Cronulla Sharks". Awesome, and that was after some tigers supporter on the street paid him out for switching clubs and told him to go to centrelink, haha. What a champ Beua is to have in our club.

Prob have slats there as someone familiar and less intense to appeal to the more casual viewer. Play a bit of a balanced middle road sorta role. Good cricketer but as a TV personality he bores me somewhat

I know what you mean. I have a friend who watches the Footy Show but calls the sport rugby. He knows who Beau is but I don't think he knows that he now plays for the Sharks

"So what NRL team did Michael Slater play for? Was it Melbourne like his son?"

9 have been the masters of the bad call for years. As a free to air viewer I just want a good quality NRL show to watch. For me, get rid of the majority of "players" and install enthusiasts who know their stuff.
I'm sick of the "fun" element and need a show that is diagnostic and interesting. If anyone can interest me in PAY then I might be swayed as I don't know much about it but need a semi serious league show.
The "Game Plan" comes close but is headline sensitive and they run it like a red neck newspaper at times.
Am I hard to please.......Maybe!

Actually the best footy program I've found is sterlo on fox. Talks the game and no nonsense crap, 2nd to that would be game plan, 3rd would be Matty johns program, then the footy show and underneath the scum on the bottom Of the barrel is NRL360, worst football program on TV, absolute ****.

That barefoot rugby league show was by far the best.

Sponsor bust

Date September 12, 2010

PARRAMATTA'S season of woe has continued after the club's second-biggest sponsor was placed into receivership.

The Eels are understood to be still owed a six-figure sum from Painaway, who are meant to tip in about $400,000 as part of their agreement with the club. It's understood that an ownership dispute at the company led to a receiver being appointed last Monday.

Eels chief executive Paul Osborne said that players would not be out of pocket, as none had third-party deals with Painaway for this season. ''I'm aware of the situation and I'm told they want to continue sponsorship [when the situation is resolved],'' Osborne said yesterday. ''We'll be keeping an eye on how it unfolds.''

Painaway, which produces sports creams/arthritis treatments, sponsors numerous high-profile athletes including boxer Danny Green and world champion discus thrower Dani Samuels. Several Eels players also use and/or endorse the product.

Sponsorship concerns are the last problem Parramatta needs after a miserable season. The Eels finished a disappointing 12th. They also missed out on signing Wallabies star Quade Cooper, who has pledged his allegiance to the ARU.
