Sir Chadley
Jaws
I nearly ran off the road this morning when I heard Fatty Vautin on the Big Sports Breakfast show say he was looking forward to having Ray Hadley back on the show. Called him his old sparring partner and said he would be in a big five segment with other guys talking about the game.
I must admit I did wonder how they were all going to get on when it was announced that Hadley would be calling some games for Channell 9 in place of Andrew Voss. Have they buried the hatchet or is it just all talk? Sometimes long time beefs are hard to overcome and lets face it, if your boss says that Hadley is the best fit for the role, you either like it or you get the sack, what do you do?
The other thing about tonight's show is the introduction of Michael Slater as a co-host. Now I don't mind Slats on the Big Sports Breakfast. TK is the one we would all like burned in efigy due to his non stop put downs of the Sharks and wanting them out of the comp or relocated. But to me Slats brings a bit of balance to the show and I do like his commentary on the cricket. But is he good enough to talk about NRL?
The bad points are that he follows Manly. Fatty probably had that as a condition of the show being co-hosted. Make sure the co-host is a Manly fan or else I'm walking.
The Footy Show is not too bad as long as they talk more footy rather than dribble. Unfortunately over the years it has been a lot more dribble. I'll be prepared to give it another go - but I won't be surprised if they don't talk up the Sharks. They never have so why would things change. We should keep a running tally on how many times the Sharks are on or mentioned on the show during 2012, my guess is that it won't be much even if we do start winning games.
How long will Hadley last do you think? Time will tell.
