Not sure if we can see Dale's effectiveness over the course of his game to know where his effectiveness drops off... I suspect it's 55-60 mins.
Did you have something like that in one of your graphs,
@BurgoShark ?
The main players I've looking in to this "drop off" for have been McInnes, Rudolf and Williams. For Finucane, there was never a drop off, but he also consistently played similar minutes in the same role. Those other three I looked at because their minutes can go up or down depending on the game situation, so it gives a better indication of output relative to the role they are playing.
The short answer though, is that for 2022 Dale's was consistently as good as McInnes and Rudolf for ~50 minutes every week, and he was equally effective at the end of the season as the start.
In terms of attacking output, based on the model let's compare Dale's game yesterday to some games from other forwards which people on the forum said were good performances. Remember for the purposes of the model
a score of 200 means running 100m in 40 minutes @ 50% possession share. A prop who plays two 20 minute stints should get 200 if he is doing his job, but for a high-minute smaller middle a score of 150+ is really good.
Kaufusi v Broncos = 181
McInnes v Cowboys = 167
McInnes v Bulldogs = 150
McInnes v Manly = 198
Hunt v Knights = 232
Finucane's last 5 games since returning from suspension.
Storm 227
Broncos 145
Knights 148
Sea Eagles 100
Dolphins 86
For yesterday's game, here are all of the middle forwards by output, in order:
Finucane 227
Williams 176
Hamlin-Uele 164
Graham 152
Hunt 138
McInnes 100
Kaufusi 28
So, from an attacking output PoV it looks to me like Finucane took a while to get back up to speed after his suspension, then had two fairly good games followed by one very busy game. It also seems to me that against the Storm his work rate in attack was not the issue.
