Sure, but why has it never been a suspension before?

Maybe a tackle comparable to that hasn't happened since new interpretations have been put in place.

I definitely think charge is too high, I don't mind that we aren't coping it, but it is hard for me to look at it and say no dangerous contact was made.
We basically have to argue the dangerous contact that was made is allowed.

Are MRC and judiciary the same people?

No.

NRL also have to make their case that dangerous contact occurred as well.
I'm smashed by hayfever today and not thinking well what's my excuse the rest of the time...
of course NRL are there too. Makes things a bit more interesting, I think a few good examples of uncharged headclashes could go a long way into painting a picture than it is not something they would usually charge and therefore is not something that should be enforced

I need an antihistamine or some **** haha

it is hard to definitively argue he made no dangerous contact
In my opinion (yes I know in this forum it doesn't count for much and in the real world probably not much more):

An accidental head clash is just that. Different if you accidently shoulder someone in the head because you are deliberately using your shoulder and got the tackle wrong. Unless you are running to make a tackle like a Rhino then it's accidental.

Also, the outcome of the injury (if its an accidental head clash) should not affect the charges. Nor should comments made by whinging coaches in the press box.

The game as it is. Wokeness, and as someone else said The Lottery aspect, makes it more likely than not, a Contestation of the charge will fail. We need to focus on Souffs not the increasing sideshow this will generate imho.
Mate there's been no precedent for this and there are millions of head clashes. If we can't get a downgrade at a minimum then the NRL is a joke. You can't change the rules without telling anyone.

That's what we're hoping for, for it to be downgraded to a level 1 which is only a fine I think.

Nah you can't plead not guilty and get a downgrade. You can contest grading OR plead not guilty.
As far as I am aware we have plead not guilty. It's 0 week or 3 weeks, no other outcome possible.

All or nothing then. We'll need him against Souths. Good to see the club showing him some support.

Need him for Souths more than we do for Tigers
Agree but that's what the Cows thought too. 🤔
Hope we go into that game with a better attitude than them. They'll probably now get every call until the end of the year.

Kikau (shoulder charge) - grade 1
Maumalo (shoulder charge) - grade 1
NAS (high tackle / dangerous contact) - grade 1 / grade 1
Lodge (high tackle) - grade 1
Finucane (dangerous contact) - grade 3

I hope we cite every incident that's occurred this year as evidence and ask how a accidental head clash is more severe each time.

I'd say their argument will be that the way he initiated contact led to the dangerous contact (which is more a reckless charge, which really would have made more sense, but it's called 'High Tackle - Reckless' so they couldn't use it) rather than it being purely about the contact occuring.

To be fair, I don't think Dale cared if he killed Crichton. He had one mission and showed zero concern for either parties health. You've gotta love this guy.
