LOL. Tickets aside, isn't a Board with vision and unity something we're all after! Haha. Throw in a bit of integrity and we're off and running. Why didn't sparkles call his ticket Sharks Integrity.

Wish there was a Sharks Honesty ticket

The sooner this election is over the better. I am over the in fighting and media attention this is getting.

This new board, whoever is on it, better look after OUR club.

Lumpy, this has been my whole point since the beginning. The people left on the current board have been doing this, yet they have been disgracefully attacked for putting the best interest of the club ahead of any individual.

we just don't know what will happen if they aren't re-elected

I think it's funny that whilst all this electioneering is going on, the current board is still quietly working hard and burning the midnight oil going through all of the ASADA stuff.

I am a member of the CSSC and I can assure you there is no clear consensus as to whether DI should be endorsed or promoted to CSSC members.

Well it's true, you've obviously read the election thread in that closed forum. Sure DI has plenty of support but there's notable opposition.

bump.

there is a post on the CSSC facebook page encouraging people who to vote for.

you were saying?

It wasn't there when I made the above quoted post.

The discussion on the CSSC forum ran for 8 pages and there was considerable discussion as to whether the CSSC should endorse DI.

Verifiable fact, my friend.

Bound to happen...

McGaw seeks emergency meeting over new Sharks board election campaign
By Brad Forrest
April 17, 2013, midnight

Former Cronulla Sharks international Mark McGaw has called on the Sharks board of directors to hold an emergency meeting over concerns about the election campaign for the new Sharks board.

‘‘I am concerned that this election has been turned into a farce and the candidates who abide by the rules are not given a fair go,’’ said McGaw, one of the board candidates, in his letter addressed to the board of directors, CEO, CFO, chairman and president of Cronulla Sutherland Leagues Club and Cronulla Sutherland Football Club.

‘‘The club and the board have a duty to ensure club rules are followed and a fair election for all involved.

‘‘At present this does not appear to be the case. I am considering my legal options if [one of the teams] is elected to the board, and I am aware other candidates are too.

‘‘I request you hold an emergency board meeting to determine the way this election has been conducted and action against those who have broken club rules.’’

McGaw’s call follows a warning this week from Sharks interim CEO Bruno Cullen, published in the Leader on Tuesday, that the club’s lawyers had contacted some of the candidates who they believe had abused the election rules.

McGaw, the former Sharks centre and Australian international, is head of Mark McGaw Institute of Sports Science.

Cronulla Sharks club members can vote for eight directors up until this Sunday before the successful candidates are announced on Monday night at the club’s annual general meeting.

Glenn Coleman is unopposed as Sharks club chairman.

Do you agree with Mark McGaw?

this action was not taken lightly. the CSSC committee were outraged that the unity ticket used a picture of us at a home game to promote themselves

we won't sit idly by while they continue to use underhanded tactics to gain control of the board

Why is it a big deal if CSSC have an advice ballot? LU has one going too. Plenty here have had a say. Unless we are all mindless twerps I reckon we can work it out for ourselves.

BTW Vote blank - Unity :)

I voted today. Moderate stream of voters in attendance.

Getting the impression that Mark McGaw's ticket will do well. Vision and Unity have divided everyone, but McGaw will probably scoop up the empty candidatures from both of those tickets. Wouldn't surprise me if he ends up new VP.

Its a blatant lie and utter rubbish from some mong. Not even worth talking about. That page is the worst on the internet regarding sharks supporters.

Man I'm disappointed not to be involved in something so important.

I know it's prob been mentioned before but can someone just give me the run down on what I have to do to get a vote in the future.

Do I have to become a leagues club member for 3 years to be eligible?

Ive been a season ticket holder since 2001.

Lost at sea.
I think you only have to be a leagues club member for the vote, but I think for other votes (eg development) you have to be a member for a certain time?

Can anyone else confirm this?
