I just want to bump this thread.

The time for nominations is fast running out.

Anyone got any suggestions to who they'd like to see on the Board?

Also, if anyone has any questions about Board elections, how a Board works, Club structure etc., put them here and I'll ENDEAVOUR to provide accurate information.

I truly believe the best outcome for the Sharks is to have an empowered and engaged membership.

It's your time to choose how we move forward together.

Cheers!

Would love to see John Lang on the board.

Agreed. Very calm and could be used as the go between in relation to the players and footy staffs interests, helping to bridge the divide. Would also fill that role of the 'old footy head'. Loved by a community. All pluses.

Anyone have any word on how many people might have nominated, and who they may be?

Would rather see us close down then you run our club ;)

My job is my life, the sharks is my life. I'm getting paid nicely and I getfree medical, dental and housing is cheap and my team is playing good footy.

I would love to run our club, maybe I could do it on half pay long service leave. But alas no one would vote for yours truly

Does anyone one on here know who is running for the board yet? I hear today that the great Peter Gow has apparently put a group together which includs Dan Sorrenson and I think they said Jason Stevens as well! Has anyone on here heard anything?

Get experience business people please. It's all nice and fuzzy having ex footy players, but unless they have the business acumen for the job, we will go backwards. The current Board have performed well, it would be stupid to elect a Board based upon emotion. If people are elected based upon a desire to return people the current Board have released, we will have major trouble.

People may think they have acted in a knee jerk way, however I do not believe this for a second!

Sure, I am aware of that, however votes need to be based upon business acumen, not sports background alone and certainly not based upon recent decisions of the current Board

Dane Sorenson

There are two things that, for me, go in Dane's favour.

1. He stood at the last elections, so he isn't just doing this on a whim;

2. Had it not been for one J. Docking standing last time, DS would likely have been endorsed on Irvine's ticket, which was elected in its entirety.

Going against him, for my vote, is that I believe he's essentially a Gow puppet. All well and good to have allies, but be your own man.

Said without any bloody clue as to the results of the investigation and the content of the report on which the current board made said decisions.

Congratulations you just failed Corporate Governance 101.

Is being a Gow puppet all that bad a thing? I can think of worse puppet masters.

Craig Borg and Scott Longmuir have come up in newspaper reports - no idea if they're actually running, but I think both of them would be far worse than someone who is acting as Peter Gow's proxy.

Ummmm, I am pretty sure he is being supportive of the current board. Read his posts again.

Fail on your part ********!

Read before you run your keyboard into overdrive!

I am saying, voting for an alternate ticket based upon the current boards decision SHOULD NOT HAPPEN. For the very same reason you are attacking me.

Oh and by the way, I may play the village idiot in here for fun, however I have plenty of experience at CEO and Board level in a number of industries. Care to throw more dirt?
