Haven’t heard of them. Are they are new mob?

They have 3 gyms in Western Sydney. Just based on their website/reviews, it looks like they target the more hard core gym goers, rather than casual. Interesting choice all round

I notice one of their trainers is Daniel Conn, former league player.

when they say hospitality on gameday, does that mean corporate only?

lack of vocal support is interesting. i have long felt the crowd is quiet.
tell ya what, we get yelled at over the PA for 20 minutes by dane wheeler n co to fire up on those awful speakers pre game and by gum, it leaves me sort of unwilling to yell and scream as i have been audio tortured.
Been like that since Adam was a boy.

When I started attending games as a then 7-8 year old in the early 1990's it was always quiet.

For some reason bar the 2016 Grand Final, our fanbase is generally quite and passive on game day.

What could possibly go wrong here?
Can see the club getting dragging into the media the moment any drug/gang related activity occurs.

Sounds like everyone at the ground sitting quietly thinking why don't these other ****s get louder

Unfortunately sounds like everyone in the habit of being quieter and take a concerted effort by a large group of regulars (or even better, a few groups around the stands) to try and correct that. Will take time.

I haven't actually watched a game at Shark Park for probably around 25 years so I'm hardly doing my part.

I always found the Sharks fans to be polite. Always found the atmosphere pleasant at Shark Park.

Haven't been there for about 20 years though.

I don't understand why people get the dirts about beer lines. If you get there plenty of time before the main game you don't queue up and while halftime might be a short period of time and make it difficult, do you really need to drink four beers during a game?

We've got guys who sit next to us who turn up right on kick off with a tray of 2 beers each, consume those and then decide to get up and push past us 5-10 minutes before half time and go down to get more beers. They arrive back again right on kick off time for the second half, we have to get up out of our seats for them to get to theirs and then they get up again during the second half to get more beers.

My son calls them "the beer guys" so it's not lost on him how often they reload. I must admit, they don't get rowdy or abusive, there probably nice guys really but it's bloody annoying having to get up out of our seats so often to let them out and let them back in.
Swap seats with them @Sir Chadley

I hate the two drinks still, personally. Let people buy what they want, and if they act like a tosser ban them for life/charge them if it's bad enough.

If I can go to the bar at a pub and buy a round of 10 beers, why can't I at the footy? If you could do that, you wouldn't need so many people lining up.
There is also an argument around additional revenue
If you allow people to buy more in one sale, you increase sales overall.

But you also need to somehow mitigate the bad behaviour due to drunken louts.
“encouraging” them out of the ground when needed would be required.

Once the club is back up and running and making a profit, do you think they'll sell off Kareela to developers?

Or is it a long term money maker?

Keep it ! Good money; however I like to see whether there would be any change of profits from it, once the club house reopens.

What's 12000 sqm of prime land worth in 5yrs or 10yrs time?
isn’t it a golf course?

5 or 10 years time is a different proposition, but we probably still get $6-7m for 5 yrs and $12-15m return over 10 as is (assuming we maintain natural growth).

But if push comes to shove, then yes we could sell or develop it need.
Good position to have thou. Asset making you a mill + pa that is increasingly in value.

I know right, there's not a single golf course in NSW, let alone in Sydney that a developer what's their hands on.

Not a bad problem to have
Doesn't to Council own the actual Golf Course land itself ?

Shire Council - doesn't say privately owned for Kareela

Our Golf Courses

Visit the 18 hole Ridge Golf Course and accompanying 52 bay Golf Driving Range, our newest course, known for it’s sweeping fairways and manicured greens
Test your handicap at Kareela Golf Course, a picturesque and challenging course set among a tree lined valley.
Discover our coastal fairways at Woolooware Golf Course and the privately owned Cronulla Golf Club, both easy walking courses. Cronulla Golf Club is also the Shire’s oldest, dating from 1923.
For a unique day out, try the Sylvania Par 3 Golf Course or even Putt Planet Mini Golf…both are perfect for social events and kids activities.

The Club does not own the golf course , it is owned by the council .

The club does own the land the club building stands on together with extra developable land , with the current long term plan being to develop it with units for the 55+ age group.
